A Wild Request On Valentine’s Day

(edited)

Okay, so I know I might end up being a laughing stock for certain people like @bipolar95 after this, but I’m still going to go ahead.

I went on a date last year on Valentine's. I actually didn’t have any plan on doing that, but as the day went by, I heard from a friend that wanted to catch up. And I thought, “Why not?” It’s even the perfect time because I get to blend in like everyone else and be on a date.

And so I went with him. It was a really nice restaurant at the mall. If I recall, the place was so nice and romantic. We kept looking around to spy on couples around us and then kept guessing their current state. For example, there was this couple behind us that was just eating in silence. So we guessed that they were going through a phase or situation where one person was cheating or said something awkward.

There was another couple who were busily talking about tuxedos, and we guessed that they were probably engaged and about to get married. But my favorite of them all was the waitress and the security man. Scandalous, right? They probably thought nobody could notice, but each time the waitress passed by, I saw the man look at him with certain eyes. I can't explain, but you know what I'm talking about.

Okay, so back to my date. We spoke a lot about the past and the silly things we used to do in school. Oh, and the part I never expected: the confessions. He confessed about so many things, and even though some were funny, others made me so uncomfortable. And that was the beginning of my Valentine date going wrong.

He told me he’s always liked me from school and wanted us to be together, but I’ve always been running from him. Which I think is totally wrong because I wasn’t running from him; I just never thought of him like that. After we finished eating, he said he wanted to tell me something. My little curious ears stood up because I thought it was another hilarious story from university days.

You guys, this guy looked me in the eyes and asked me if I could give birth for him. Yes!!!! Like being his baby mama. I laughed because I didn’t really want to think about it. But he was serious, and so I had to listen to reason and then get mad. He said he wanted to have a baby with me because of my intelligence and would want his child to be intelligent. So he’s just shooting his shot because he doesn’t know when else he’ll see me. And the crazy part? He’s been wanting to say this since university days.

At this point, I was fuming, but I had to really think about my response before doing anything. I thanked him for thinking I’m intelligent and just told him I wanted to leave. When I got home, my mom couldn’t stop laughing because for her, the guy was definitely brave for telling me that and smart for even coming up with that. She started calling me "baby mama," and that name lasted for almost a year.

Since then, Valentine's Day just makes me laugh because it’s a reminder that someone wanted me to be their baby mama.
