My Introduction To Hive Blog
Hi! I'm Soromercy from Uyo in Nigeria. My names are sorobaby or Somibebe, it's names given to me by my friends and my secondary school teachers. Special thanks to my friend, who is also my mentor @ddn688. I am glad and delighted to beling to this Hive Community.
I am a Food Nutritionist and Health Educator. I study Food Science and Technology in the University of Uyo,Uyo Nigeria. My aim in this Hive Community is to use my food science knowledge to help Hive Community family and individuals to make the right choices about what they eat.To create positive attitudes toward good nutrition and physical activity and provide motivation for improved nutrition and lifestyle practices conducive to promoting and maintaining the best attainable level of wellness for an individual.
- To provide adequate knowledge and skills necessary for critical thinking regarding diet and health so the individual can make healthy food choices from an increasingly complex food supply.
- To assist the individual on this platform to identify resources for continuing access to sound food and nutrition information. And also the use of Dietary Guidelines, which include maintenance of a healthy weight, daily physical activity, food safety, and moderation of alcohol intake should serve as the framework for all nutrition education activities. My areas of specialization as a Food Science and Nutrintist are :
- Sports and exercise
- Public health nutrition
- Nutrition science
- Food Science / industry
- Animal nutrition
- Health care medical
My original career plan was to move straight into the food industry and to follow a more conventional career path through food product development and/or research and development. Fortunately I was offered the opportunity to study Food Science and after careful consideration decided that this would be a marvelous opportunity to acquire more knowledge. However, I found the study of Food and it's components to be quite stressful and harder than I had anticipated. I probably spent the first year wondering if I had made the right choice. In the long run, it turned out that apart from the development of an ability to use new research techniques and methods and problem solve in a logical and scientifically robust manner, my time as a Food Science student was more important to me as a time of self-discovery.
By nature , I am jovial, social, accommodating and loving . My hobbies are reading books, research on people work, blogging, football, dancing I am extremely happy to be here in Hive Community and am looking forward to interaction and communicate with everyone! Stay cool friends!
