It's been a while since I last painted something. Life has been hectic lately, but it's unavoidable. We can only move forward. :)
Anyway, a couple of weeks ago, the lovely @deeanndmathews tagged me in one of her snaps. She has two amazing photos that she's offering as a reference photo for painting. Let me share a screenshot of the post. :)
I finished my classes earlier than usual tonight, so I got some time to sit down and paint something. I recall her post from two weeks ago, so I decided to create a painting that combines these two. :)
I decided to paint a tree with many flowers scattered throughout the field. I painted it using poster paint on a 10 x 10 cm watercolor paper. :) Allow me to share the painting process below. ^^
After prepping my watercolor paper, I sketched the tree and some guidelines for the field.
I started with the tree's base color before adding darker brown and black to it.
Next, I added some greens to the field. :) There's a lighter one and a darker one.
Then, for the leaves, I took out a used sponge, cut some of the surface so it would have an interesting shape, and dabbed on some green paint. After that, I added more paint, varying the shades of green. When my tree was finished, I added some light blue paint to the empty space to make it look like the sky.
I then worked in the flower field. I just used and combined some red, white, and violet for the flowers. I don't know what kind of flower the reference was, so I made a similar one. :)
Using a white pen, I wrote my username, signature, and the date today.
Lastly, I took out the masking tape around the painting... and it's done! :) Let me share some more shots of the painting. It's quite dark, though... (sorry for that!)
I tried taking a photo of the painting in a brighter place, but it looks so pale. hahaha Anyway, the colors look more vivid in person, so it's ok...
And yeah... that's for my painting tonight. :) Thanks for checking it out. See you around! I have to hit the sack now. Good night from this side of the world! zzzZZZ
You captured the essence of BOTH! Brilliant and I LOVE IT and thank you for moving the beauty on the way YOU see it!
Yaaay~!!! I'm glad you like it.
I was considering choosing one, but then I thought it would be a waste not to pick the other. So, why not combine them, right? :D Thanks for the reference photos! <3
