A well-deserved break /Une pause méritée

This afternoon, during my daily walk, I stopped in a public garden. A bench was calling me to rest. I had just reached 5,000 steps, as shown by the Sweatcoin app on my phone. That meant I was halfway , I still had 5,000 to go. So I sat down for a moment to catch my breath.

Even though I was a bit tired, I looked around, hoping to find something to photograph and share with you.

My eyes landed on two beautiful, majestic trees. According to Google, they were two different species. Yet they looked so much alike. What they had in common: both are native to South America. They’ve come from far away.

The soft afternoon sunlight filtered through the leaves, gently warming the air. It was a simple moment, but a soothing one , like a welcome pause in the rhythm of everyday life.

A little further on, another tree, full of leaves, was blooming with lovely white flowers, which I photographed. According to Google, this one also came from afar: it’s native to Asia. You really can find plants from all over the world in this little garden. It’s amazing how small the world has become.

But I couldn’t linger too long. After a few minutes of rest, it was time to start walking again.

Cet après-midi, lors de ma marche quotidienne, je me suis arrêtée dans un jardin public. Un banc m’invitait au repos. Je venais de réaliser 5 000 pas, comme l’affichait l’application Sweatcoin sur mon téléphone. Cela voulait dire que j’étais à mi-chemin — il m’en restait encore 5 000. Alors je m’y suis assise un moment pour reprendre mon souffle.

Même un peu fatiguée, je regardais autour de moi, dans l’espoir de trouver quelque chose à photographier pour le partager avec vous.

Mon regard s’est posé sur deux beaux arbres, majestueux. Selon Google, il s’agissait de deux espèces différentes. Ils se ressemblaient pourtant tellement. Leur point commun : tous deux sont originaires d’Amérique du Sud. Ils viennent de loin.

Les rayons doux du soleil de l’après-midi traversaient les feuillages, réchauffant agréablement l’atmosphère. C’était un instant simple, mais apaisant, comme une pause bienvenue dans le rythme du quotidien.

Un peu plus loin, un autre arbre, chargé de feuilles, portait de belles fleurs blanches que j’ai prises en photo. Selon Google, lui aussi vient de loin : il est originaire d’Asie. On trouve vraiment toutes les plantes du monde dans ce petit jardin. C’est fou de voir à quel point le monde est devenu petit.

Mais il ne fallait pas trop tarder. Après quelques minutes de pause, il était temps de reprendre la marche.
