Beneficial animals for the garden, Curruca cabecinegra

I have talked and will continue to do so in a section of the blog about animals that are harmful to the garden, but there are also many animals that are beneficial to the garden. These are the predators that help us control pests in the most efficient and clean way possible. Our job will be to attract them and respect them so that they can help us get the best harvests.

The Sardinian Warbler is one of my constant neighbors, along with the Black Redstart. They live around my vegetable garden and are a great help in combating pests. I planted mastic trees around my plot a long time ago, initially as a windbreak, which was a problem for my vegetables in winter.

This was undoubtedly one of my best decisions as a gardener, as they are a source of life and diversity that create a magnificent balance in the garden. The warblers feel at home, not only finding food in the fall and winter, leaving my winter vegetables alone, but also finding the ideal place to nest during the spring.
This little bird, when breeding, is a true insect devourer. I have several settled pairs, and it's incredible to see them constantly going to feed their chicks. They are truly tireless animals.
