Normal but not normal.

There was a man that owned a great tech company that was dominating and was ahead of all the other tech companies around him. When he started his tech company, he gave into the hands of a couple for them to manage. At first they were doing really well because of their skills and individual backgrounds in tech. So it was natural they excelled.

Before long, one of the CEO of the other tech companies got envious that (let's call the great tech company Comp-A) Comp-A was doing so well while the other tech companies were just in it's shadows. So he decided to take matters into his hands. He decided to send his PA to infiltrate into Comp-A and see what he could find.

During one of the recruitment cycles of Comp-A the PA got employed. The PA was also chosen based on his own background and great skills in tech. So he got on with his business. For the next one year, he worked his way up to the positions that would allow him have access to the sensitive informations of Comp-A, which he judiciously shared with his boss. Now with all the information the envious CEO has now obtained he began to ponder on how to use them. He thought to himself that if he used them as his, it will be known that he was copying Comp-A. So he decided to the the worse thing he could do to the company—corrupt it from within with a virus that is almost not detectable.

After engineering the virus and embedding it in a flash drive, he handed it to his PA and asked him to find a way to get it into the main server of Comp-A. The PA swallowed hard because he knew it was almost an impossible task. But none the less, he got to work. He spent days trying to get into the server room but to no avail. This was because Comp-A had a very tight security. Then he decided to play the relationship card.

Within the one year period, the PA had built good relationships with the staffs of Comp-A, and somehow with the wife of the manager (she also being a co manager too, with equal access and rights). The PA managed to convince the wife that the virus he has in the flash was in fact not a virus, but a software that would greatly enhance the performance of the operation of the company. She having the mindset that because something is working well doesn't mean it can't or shouldn't be improved on. After showing a a fake demo of what the software could do, she gave the go ahead. But she seemed to have forgotten that the owner of the company had told she and her husband that nothing in the company needs any manual enhancement because the systems were already a to update themselves if and when the needs arose. And the virus was ushered in.

At first it all seemed normal. There was no evident glitch or malware of any sort. But something was going on from the very programming of the entire system of the company. The codes were being mutated even beyond the understanding of the managers.

While all these were going on, the husband who is also a co manager was not in town, so he wasn't fully aware of the software that has been entered in the system. Though his wife told him casually about what she had approved, he didn't think much of it because he knew she was equally skilled and had the same authority he did to made decisions. So he trusted her judgement.

One day the owner of the company decided to visit his establishment to see how operations are going. By this time it was a full house. Both managers were in town, all staff were at their duty post. It was business as usual. But once the owner stepped in, he felt something was off, though everything looked normal. The owner asked the managers to escort him to the server room. Once they entered, the owner felt a chill in his spine because he knew that the servers had a very different hum from what he built. The lights blinked in a different sequence, basically everything had changed but the managers didn't even have a clue. Then the owner asked them, "did you make any changes in the systems operations?" At first they said they didn't, before the female manager recalled that she had approved a software that was supposed to enhance the systems operations. That's when it dawned on her that there hasn't been any enhancement. To her everything was the same as it were. As the words came out of her mouth, she saw that the countenance of the owner changed immediately. He was livid. He asked them who introduced the idea of the software and she mentioned the name of the PA, then she also realised that the PA too had stopped showing up at the facility.

In the end, the owner suspected his greatest rival, he also suspected that he would try something like this that why he programmed his systems to enhance itself but the managers had no suspicion whatsoever.

Thanks for stopping by my blog. See you soon. 🤗

peace out ✌️
