The Triangle | Prompt #63 (Frequency)

The expectation of motherhood is one very happiness that cannot be hidden as the expectant mothers glow with proud happiness while making preparations for the arrival of their bundle of joy, the reverse is the case when this expectation is cut off. This does not affect only the mother but both parents but Vera didn't understand this, she was pained, she was hurt, she was griefing. To make matters worse, her recent attitude weren't making things easy especially for her husband.

Richard and Vera had been married for 2 years and were expecting their first child when Vera had a domestic accident where she slipped from the stairs hitting the floor so badly. Richard immediately rushed her to the clinic were she was promptly treated but she had lost the child, even worse had a damaged womb. This caused a great pain to Richard and he wondered how badly his wife would take it due to her temperament. He pleaded with the doctor not to say anything to his wife of which he obliged.
Hey, babe I prepared something really delicious for you, come to the table, Richard said.
After the dinner what next? You lay with me and get me pregnant, where is your conscience? Vera screamed. I lost a child and all you could think of is........
I lost a child too, Richard screamed back painfully. Do you think it is any easier for me than it is for you, I stick my neck out just to comfort you and you never appreciate my efforts, I too need too be comforted because I'm hurt, I'm pained and I'm suffering.
Saying this, he took his car keys, banged the door and headed out.
Vera was shocked, she had never seen her husband react in that manner before, she immediately realized she had to switch the frequency of her mood of conversation and actions towards her husband. She sat on the floor weeping and tried contacting her husband but his offs were not reachable.

Richard was at a pub drinking uncontrollably, when a sex worker approached him. She offered to help the half drunk man get a place to sleep but it didn't end there as she got pregnant and set out to find Richard which she did. Arriving at his house unannounced, she met his wife and sister. Few minutes later, Richard arrived home and was surprised to see her after 6 months with claims of mothering his child. His wife was angry and didn't agree to sharing her home with an external person but for his sister who pleaded for the sake of the baby. Things took a new turn especially with Vera as everyone's attention was cast on the pregnant woman. The strange woman was also scheming her way to get Richard marry her as his sister had revealed the condition of his wife to her.

Once again Vera visited the doctor and demanded an explanation to her condition but was referred to meet her husband. Richard couldn't bring himself to tell her the truth, but his sister who had now taken sides with the strange woman blew everything out of proportion. This made Vera run out of the house to go see her cousin, this made Richard so agitated as he ordered his sister to stay away from his family's issues. Thereafter he went to find his wife and was able to bring her home. The sister being so furious confronted Vera and blamed her for coming in between her and her brother. She expressed so much hatred for Vera accusing her of controlling the brother's income and not allowing him handle her expenses as he used to being that she was all the family he had. This came as a great shock to Vera but she was happy Richard was getting rid of negative energies in the house already. The love between the couple kept waxing stronger and this broke the strange woman as she had hoped Richard would abandon his wife for her. Her anger became so bad that she went her ahead to try to stab Vera, but as she raised her hand, Vera unknowingly moved and she slipped and fell.
Taking her to the hospital, her condition was really terrible and the couple had to make a choice of saving either mother or baby. Not minding the damage the strange woman was causing on her family or one would expect that since they were childless they would save baby but they unanimously signed for the mother to be saved. On recovery she felt so ashamed and thanked the family for giving her a second chance at life as she promised to amend her ways while she returned from where she came from. Vera was so pleased to have her home back and they both agreed to adopt kids after they must have filled their home with so much happiness.
