Why Redicle Lilian

(edited)

Lilian is the best student in her sets. For her, she didn't know how it happened. She studied and prayed, doing her exams even while struggling with some financial constraints and some emotional trauma, which she kept to herself.

Her focus was just to pass her exams, but she received more. Her phone kept ringing with congratulatory messages, and she doesn't even know how to act.Two months later, Lilian found herself during her internship in the federal hospital with some of her coursemates.

Her line of study was driven by learning other things, like mastering tech.

“Lilian, can you tell us the anatomical features of the mouth?” one of the superiors at her place of assignment asked.Lilian was Short of words, her eyes sweep the floor as she tries to remember anything at all she could use to save herself, but nothing was forthcoming.

“Sir, I don't know,” she answered, and there came a piercing silence; her heart skipped a beat at the long, prolonged silence. She didn't care how others look at her, right from her childhood she was always scared of failing so she tries every possible means to prove herself but this particular one was beyond her.

“And you call yourself the best student” her superior said sarcastically.

Lilian was emotional broken as if a voice in her head was screaming so loudly.

She felt bad with those words and yet she didn't make any effort to improve herself.‘I just passed the exam just like everyone else; it doesn't mean I should know everything.’ She used that to comfort herself, and after some time, she began to feel better.

Time passed as Lilian began to hide herself away from her superior; she didn't want to go through such emotional torture of using her success to ridicule her just because she couldn't answer any question, but it didn't stop there.

IT students came for their compulsory 6-month program.“Lilian, you have to teach the IT some of the theories everyday and make sure your other colleagues join in this activity” the unit head ordered.

“Yes ma” Lilian answered before walking away. Her academic books were far away from her how does she intend to teach them.

It was so difficult for her as she began to search for an alternative through out the night she devoted herself making research using the Internet but it seems the knowledge was just shallow compared to what she was taught in school.

She was devasted but the little she got she went ahead to teach the IT students. They asked questions she was able to handle.

After the teaching she went outside to catch her breath. Her success have successfully brought her to the open and most people now look at her like a genius.

“Hey what up?” One of her colleagues who saw her outside came forward to inquire what is going on with her. She took a deep breath before answering.

“I feel out of place” “Why? Is it because of what happened. C’mon you don't have to take it to heart”Mary try to comfort her.

“I just feel Iam being ridiculed”“You're just being emotional about it”

“How was I supposed to act when someone tells me, I thought you're the best student”

“You don't have to prove to anyone anything. You just have to take a deep breath and allowed it to flow. Moreover we are out of school and you have chosen another path.
Don't let those side talks get to you” Lilian thanked her colleagues feeling a bit better, her plans was to keep on hiding from her supervisor so he won't see her to ask her any random questions but this time she didn't run again and just as usual her superior try to ridicule her by asking her an improtune question.

She answered wrongly again and again he made his side comment but Lilian only smiled at it not feeling bad this time.

Slowly she was getting use to it. But one day during one of their seminar she was thrown a question.

“Lilian can you tell us the meaning of freeway space” Lilian eyes was fixed on the ceiling as she began to think. She answered confidently and was even surprised she could remember.

She was battling with memory retention as she easily forgot.

“A round of applause,” her superior said, and he even recommended Lilian in other areas and even encouraged her to do more.Lilian was happy hearing the kind words from her superior.
