"Someone is always stealing from me, Rabbit said while having a conversation with the Hare.
Last week, I prepared stew with loads of beef only to return to realize that all my beef was gone and my stew was being topped with water. This is truly surprising as I didn't expect this from this community which is meant to be peaceful and highly security conscious.
"This is really surprising" Hare replied

"To think that I have already made a report to the king on several occasions and He promised that something would be done but till date, I'm yet to capture the thief or even know who it is" Rabbit said.
"I believe you but I need to be a witness to this, Let's harvest some vegetables and keep at your place, let me be a witness to the theft, Hare responded

They headed off to get some vegetables from the market, they got tomato, some cucumber and cabbage as well. As usual, Rabbit left it in his kitchen and ensured everywhere was locked up properly. They left to Hare's house and returned in about 2 hours. A portion of every vegetable was taken, the lock wasn't broken, it was obvious neat break-in. With this proof and witness, they headed immediately to the king's palace.

Good evening Your Majesty, may you live long. I've been here before to make a report concerning a thief who breaks into my house every single time to take food from my kitchen, Rabbit said......but oh my King nothing has been done about it. That is why I have come back again to make the same report this time with a witness, who was with me when I bought those stuffs and also witnessed the missing ones.

'I have heard you Rabbit and together I will ensure we get the culprit. When you get home, sprinkle flour infront of and inside your kitchen, whenever the person visits again, he would step into the flour and you can follow it's footprints." The king replied

He did as the king had instructed and true to the king's words the foot prints were very visible because of the flour. He immediately sent for Hare and they both followed the prints. "This way leads to my mother's hut, Rabbit said, are you sure we haven't lost the person? He asked.
"These footprints are still visible enough how can we get lost, let's keep going until we get answers. Hare replied.
They kept following until it ended right infront of old mother rabbit's home.
Rabbit had long abandoned his mother even after she had sent someone to inform him of her ailment and hunger as she could no longer farm, still he refused to visit her. His little cousin has been the one going to his house to take food for his mother to eat. On realizing this, her was so ashamed and wished he had followed the lead without Hare. Hare was also disappointed that he would abandon his mother in such a condition. He kept weeping, pleading for forgiveness from his mother. He promised to take care of her and be a better son to her. He also thanked his cousin for coming over to take care of his aunt. This was more like a family reunion.

"Siempre hay alguien que me está robando, dijo Conejo mientras conversaba con la Liebre.
La semana pasada, preparé un guiso con mucha carne de vacuno y al volver me di cuenta de que toda la carne había desaparecido y el guiso estaba cubierto de agua. Esto es realmente sorprendente ya que no esperaba esto de esta comunidad que se supone que es pacífica y muy consciente de la seguridad.
"Esto es realmente sorprendente" respondió Hare

"Pensar que ya he informado al rey en varias ocasiones y me prometió que se haría algo, pero hasta la fecha, todavía no he capturado al ladrón ni sé quién es" dijo Rabbit.
"Te creo pero necesito ser testigo de esto, cosechemos algunas verduras y guardemos en tu casa, déjame ser testigo del robo, respondió Hare

Se dirigieron a buscar algunas verduras al mercado, consiguieron tomate, algo de pepino y también col. Como siempre, Conejo lo dejó en su cocina y se aseguró de que todo estuviera bien cerrado. Se fueron a casa de Hare y volvieron en unas dos horas. Se llevaron una porción de cada verdura, la cerradura no estaba rota, era obvio el robo limpio. Con estas pruebas y testigos, se dirigieron inmediatamente al palacio del rey.

Buenas noches Su Majestad, que viva mucho tiempo. Ya he venido aquí antes para hacer una denuncia sobre un ladrón que irrumpe en mi casa cada vez para llevarse la comida de mi cocina, dijo Conejo......pero, oh mi Rey, no se ha hecho nada al respecto. Por eso he vuelto a hacer la misma denuncia esta vez con un testigo, que estaba conmigo cuando compré esas cosas y también fue testigo de los desaparecidos.

'Te he escuchado Conejo y juntos me aseguraré de que atrapemos al culpable. Cuando llegues a casa, espolvorea harina delante y dentro de tu cocina, cuando la persona vuelva a visitarte, pisará la harina y podrás seguir sus huellas". El rey respondió

Hizo lo que el rey le había indicado y, fiel a las palabras del rey, las huellas eran muy visibles gracias a la harina. Inmediatamente mandó llamar a Hare y ambos siguieron las huellas. "Este camino lleva a la cabaña de mi madre", dijo Conejo, ¿estás seguro de que no hemos perdido a la persona? preguntó.
"Estas huellas siguen siendo lo suficientemente visibles como para que nos perdamos, sigamos hasta obtener respuestas. Contestó la liebre.
Siguieron hasta que terminaron justo frente a la casa de la vieja madre conejo.
El conejo había abandonado a su madre durante mucho tiempo, incluso después de que ella enviara a alguien a informarle de su dolencia y del hambre que padecía, ya que no podía seguir cultivando, y aún así se negaba a visitarla. Su primo pequeño ha sido el que ha ido a su casa para llevarle comida a su madre. Al darse cuenta de ello, se sintió muy avergonzada y deseó haber seguido el camino sin Hare. Hare también estaba decepcionada por haber abandonado a su madre en esas condiciones. Siguió llorando, suplicando el perdón de su madre. Prometió cuidar de ella y ser un mejor hijo para ella. También dio las gracias a su primo por venir a cuidar de su tía. Esto fue más bien una reunión familiar.
