What's up plebs?!
Got another shiny coin today, this time I decided to pick something from my huge German silver stack 😄
I also had a lot of free time and as you are about to see I had lots of fun with the photos :)
Let's check it out:
Heh, ok enough with the silliness 😄
So, what we have today is a 10 Deutsche mark minted in 1991 for the 200th Anniversary of Brandenburg Gate in Berlin. It's a really popular monument and chances are you have heard about it or seen photos on a tourist guide or whatever!
Here's some info from Wikipedia in case you live in a cave:
The Brandenburg Gate is an 18th-century neoclassical monument in Berlin. One of the best-known landmarks of Germany, it was erected on the site of a former city gate that marked the start of the road from Berlin to Brandenburg an der Havel, the former capital of the Margraviate of Brandenburg. The current structure was built from 1788 to 1791 by orders of King Frederick William II of Prussia, based on designs by the royal architect Carl Gotthard Langhans. The bronze sculpture of the quadriga crowning the gate is a work by the sculptor Johann Gottfried Schadow.
And a photo:
And here are two close ups of the coin:
Pretty standard stuff on both sides, the monument, a unique design of the imperial eagle, denomination, minting date etc!
As always is the case with these German commemorative coins, we get an engraved edge:
It reads
DEUTSCHLAND EINIG VATERLAND
For
Germany - united fatherland"
On 2–3 October 1990, the Gate was the scene of the official ceremony to mark the reunification of Germany so I guess it's a fitting motto !
When it comes to silver we have 15.5 g of 0.625 purity. That's about 9.7 g of pure silver. Not bad!
Ok friends, this is it for today! My German stack is really big so eventually I'll post more coins from the country!
See you soon with more shiny!

@trumpman ,you’ve got a serious eye for both coins and camera angles. That coin is not just shiny — it’s got real historical weight to it.
Haha, the photo fun definitely paid off.
