Poseidon's Silver Trident From Barbados, Silver Still Climbing the Charts!
Talk about a rough morning for crypto once again, especially for our Hive ecosystem. I've been watching on and off all morning and it just seems to go down. Here's hoping for brighter days in the near future!
Forgetting about the headache that is crypto at the moment, I'll go back to something that makes me smile. That would of course be silver and gold! So I picked out a coin to share today that has a great design and comes from a part of the world that I truly love, the Caribbean! The coin of the day is from Barbados, at least sort of... In all reality it was produced for Barbados by the Scottsdale Mint in Scottsdale, Arizona. Incidentally another place I happen to love having spent a lot of time there during my years living in Arizona. A two for one on this one!
This particular coin I remember picking up in a coin shop in Long Beach, California. It had some minor issues so I talked the owner down on the price and got a great deal. Not to mention I think this was in 2019 and silver prices were around $16 or $17 at the time. At any rate, here is the One Dollar Trident Coin from Barbados from 2018, who wouldn't want Poseidon's Trident?

I personally love this coin that was produced for only seven years from 2017-2023. I own a few of them but I have considered picking up a collection of one from each year. I just haven't gotten to it quite yet, other things are much higher on the list! They are great coins to add to any silver stack, so if you don't have one yet you should pick one up. Prices aren't too bad on eBay, just make sure it's a reputable seller. There are a lot of scammers out there anymore...
Silver
Silver prices are still looking strong, and I think $70 is likely by Christmas. There is a huge shortage of the metal and demand that is outpacing production, that translates to higher prices. I haven't been buying as much silver since prices went up, it's become expensive! But if I find a deal I'll be buying, it's really a smart move at this point!
Silver is at $65.44 as of the time of writing, so less that four dollar away from that $70 mark. The question is once it's hit, what's next? $75? Higher? No one really knows, it's all part of the fun I suppose! Anyway, here's a silver chart over the last five days:

I remember buying my first Maple Leafs at under $25 CAD, now it's almost $100 CAD. My last buy was at $90 CAD for back dated Maple Leafs. I didn't complain at all of the price, I have faith in the fundamentals than it simply didn't bother me anymore. The nominal value in dollars is irrelevant, what counted are the ounces when economic push comes to shove.

Dang, that almost doesn't seem right that the price should be that much higher in such a short amount of time. It makes you think either something is broken or it's being manipulated.
It's a huge supply shortage at the moment, and it's not likely to get better any time soon. They can't refine silver fast enough to keep up with demand. This has been brewing for a few years, but now it's finally reached the breaking point where they can no longer artificially keep the price down.
Hmm, that is interesting. I guess It is good I got in where I did for most of my buys. Do you think it will eventually go down? Should I be looking to flip at some point?

The silver price is not going down any time soon, and this may be a new normal price for years to come. They really make some nice coins in the Scottsdale Mint, always beautiful! They do produce coins for several countries like Barbados. Poseidon's Trident is pretty cool!
