My Week in Review for November 16, 2024

I hope all of you are having a pleasant weekend so far. I know I have been, the weather has been great here and should be nice and sunny to do some yard work a little later. After that I have no idea, a day with endless possibilities!

Since it's Saturday today I'll also being doing my Saturday Savers post. I joined the community sometime back now to help me nail down what goals I would like to achieve here on Hive. It helped take my general undefined goals and add a specific number which was a real game changer. I've managed to surpass many of my goals this year already, and I hope to yet overcome at least one or two more!

Let's jump into the numbers for this last week...

Hive Power

I'm happy with my numbers for this past week. I started the week with 5,468 HP. I now have 5,569 HP, so up 101 on the week! I had a goal to reach 5,000 HP on the year, and that goal has long since been beaten. I'm hoping to end the year with more than 6,000 HP now, and it looks very easily achievable!

Not too shabby if I say so myself!

PIMP

This is my secondary goal for the year, I want to reach 50,000 staked PIMP by the year's end. I was on target for quite some time until the prices jumped up and I haven't found many good deals. Right now I have 31,727 total staked, so quite a big gap to bridge still. I will try but I'm worried with prices this may not happen. Crossing my fingers here!

It's an awesome token and as I have mentioned more than a couple times in the past it is the only token here on Hive that is backed by physical silver in the PIMP vault.

Leo

A late in the year goal I added was to reach 1,500 staked LEO. I beat that a few weeks back so I made another to reach 2,000 staked LEO by year's end. I beat that yesterday, I have just over 2,000 staked LEO at the moment. I won't set any new goals on the year here, but I may yet increase those LEO holdings!

HSBI

I annihilated this goal sometime ago, I wanted to hit 2,000 units and now I'm sitting on 3,159. It feels great to get those curations on each post, so a worthwhile investment!

I'm up 52 units on the week, another good week in adding to my HSBI stack. You can never have too many!

Just over a year ago I had a grand total of 11 HSBI and I really didn't even understand well what they were. That prompted me to do some research and figure out what HSBI does to help you out in growing your Hive account. Since that time I have done giveaways on my posts and even have one weekly post dedicated to give out HSBI. I also began to sponsor other initiatives like Three Tune Tuesday, Nineties Friday, and Shadow Hunters which also really grew my HSBI numbers. You can never have too many of these, for those unfamiliar with the program keep reading below!

For those of you new to Hive or unfamiliar with the HSBI program I have some guides to help you out. When I started blogging I had no clue what they were and had to search around until I stumbled on a post that explained it to me. That's why I include this every week to help someone out if they still don't understand the program.

SIM

SIM in the token created by dCity and has some very nice perks to those who invest in it. The biggest is the daily liquid Hive dividends you can receive for just holding the token. Additionally you can place these in a liquidity pool and get extra rewards, and they still pay you the Hive dividend on top of it. Hard to beat those benefits! One thing to keep in mind is that it is an inflationary token so you can lose money on your capital investment. I play the game as well, so I worry less about that downside!

DUO

Yes, time for me to shill a token I helped to found here on Hive not too long ago, yet again! Along with @bulliontools and @bitcoinman , we created the DUO token. The purpose of the token is to accumulate enough Hive Power to be able to use a portion to support new onboards and help retain them through encouragement and with curations. We currently have more than 25,700 HP in the curation account, and are starting to make our first onboarding efforts.

DUO token holders receive by far the greatest benefits. Once you have 200 staked tokens you can receive a daily curation on your quality posts and receive daily liquid Hive dividends. Once you stake more than 500 DUO you also can use the DUO tip call to tip someone with some DUO, and in return you get the same amount of DUO in your account. It pays to tip others with DUO!

I currently have over 1,100 of these and will be continuing to purchase them. Once this tranche of tokens sells out the price will jump from one Hive to 1.5 Hive each. My advice is to buy in early while they are less expensive! Plus you will make money as soon as this batch sells out due to the price increase! All Hive from token purchases in locked into Hive Power and will never be powered down.

Other Tokens

No big changes here, I am continuing to collect DBOND and DAB. I have both my DBONDs and DABs staked, so the staked DBOND produces more DAB, and the staked DAB produces more DBOND. So they are slowly growing. With EDS I'm just continuing to hold just about 100, but will look to increase it to 200 or more next year. We'll see how things go because it isn't cheap!

Silver

I have always enjoyed collecting and investing in silver and gold products. My dad got me started as a child, and it's a great habit to have. Silver and gold will always have value even in the worst case scenario of a catastrophic world war 3. I do love investing in cryptocurrency but will never give up on my precious metals investing as it's a great way to build wealth!

Silver has been down a touch this week, which isn't uncommon when the stock market is doing well. However, as fiat continues to have inflation it becomes less valuable as we have seen with the dollar this past few years. Silver will continue to hold it's value and more than likely test new highs in the not too distant future. It's used industrially as well as in jewelry and investing so it's always scarce. I'm continuing to hold and add to my silver.

I like to spotlight a fun silver product every week that's a little different and fun. This one is a lot of fun but a little bit expensive! The 2023 three ounce sliver $10 coin from Niue featuring none other than Darth Vader himself. This coin I would love to own, it's Star Wars memorabilia mixed with precious metal. The asking price on these at APMEX is $300, more than $200 over the value of the metal. Only 999 of these were made so they are very rare and I would expect prices to increase not only in the short term but may soar in the long term. Lord Vader will always be in demand!

DUO token
