My Week in Review for December 14, 2024

Saturday at last... Today I have absolutely no plans whatsoever, and it feels great! The world is my oyster as they say... It sounds exciting doesn't it? However, in reality means I have to clean the house and work on the garden. Not exactly visiting Katmandu! Alas, I'm not as young as I once was!

Saturday means it's time for another #saturdaysavers post. I joined the community about six months ago if memory serves, to achieve my goals here on Hive. Before joining I had some goals, but they really weren't defined. Having an objective does help, and I recommend joining the community to all in the Hive community.

Without further ado, it's time to jump into last week's progress...

Hive Power

Not a bad week here, I usually see more than one hundred HP improvement, but fell a little short. I started the week with 5,926HP. I now have 6,019 HP, an increase of 93 HP on the week. I passed the six thousand HP mark a couple days ago, it felt great! So now onto new and higher goals for this next year. I'll wait to figure out exactly what those are until after the holidays are over though!

PIMP

As I mentioned in my last post, this secondary goal is not going to happen. I wanted to reach fifty thousand staked PIMP this year, but prices increased significantly so this one will have to wait until next year. I'm not complaining about the price increase though because I have 32,818 staked right now and I have made money! I do eventually want to get to one hundred thousand, maybe in the year that is soon arriving.

PIMP is a great project and the only one on Hive that is physically backed by silver in the PIMP vault. Last I heard there were 35 ounces of it, though that may have increased. It means PIMP will always have value no matter what!

Leo

This was a late in the year addition to reach 1,500 staked LEO, which I did some time ago. So I increased in to 2,000 staked LEO, and that already was surpassed. So I achieved two goals on this one, next year I'll set some new ones. However, I'm not sure exactly what they'll be yet. I'll have to survive Christmas first!

HSBI

My goal this year was to reach 2,000 HSBI, and that was overcome many long moons ago. I now have 3,293 total units of HSBI. I guess I can call this goal achieved plus some!

I'm up 43 units on the week, not too bad at all. I haven't set any new goals here but it's still nice to see those HSBI pile up. You really can never have too many of these! They really do help to build your Hive account, and help someone else in the process. I'll dive a little more into HSBI here below for those new to Hive or who don't know much about the initiative.

About a year and half ago I had a grand total of 11 HSBI units. I honestly didn't even know much about them, or how they can benefit your growth on Hive. I now have just a few more than eleven, 3,282 to be exact. Now I'll jump into the standard info I offer every week that really doesn't change much!

For those of you new to Hive or unfamiliar with the HSBI program I have some guides to help you out. When I started blogging I had no clue what they were and had to search around until I stumbled on a post that explained it to me. That's why I include this every week to help someone out if they still don't understand the program.

SIM

SIM is a great token! It offers daily liquid Hive dividends to holders of the token once you hold I think more than eight thousand, but don't quote me on that. Look that one up to be safe. On top of the daily liquid Hive to holders they also have liquidity pools that allow you to earn even more rewards and still earn the daily liquid Hive even though your tokens are in a pool. Double rewards are never a bad thing! But be aware, SIM is inflationary and you can lose money on your principal investment.

SIM is also the governing token for the game dCity. I play the game and continue to invest in assets in my own city. I also receive SIM daily for it as well. It's a bit challenging to understand at first, but once you do it's fun. Check them out on Discord if you have any questions!

DUO

Time for the absolute best token of them all, at least in my opinion it is! I may be somewhat biased since I helped create it... Several months ago along with @bitcoinman and @bulliontools we created the DUO token to help fill voids in the Hive community. The purpose of the token is to accumulate enough Hive Power to be able to use a portion to support new onboards and help retain them through encouragement and with curations. We currently have more than 34,783 HP in the curation account, and are already onboarding and actively searching for new Hive members that want to grow their accounts here in the community.

We have a new guest author program allowing Hive members to earn by posting original content on the duo-curator account. Please see our latest duo-curator posts for rules and information on how to participate. You can receive half of the earnings from the post and if you want we can even pay you out in DUO tokens to build your personal stash.

DUO token holders receive by far the greatest benefits. Once you have 200 staked tokens you can receive a daily curation on your quality posts and receive daily liquid Hive dividends. Once you stake more than 500 DUO you also can use the DUO tip call to tip someone with some DUO, and in return you get the same amount of DUO in your account. It pays to tip others with DUO!

I currently have over 1,200 of these and will be continuing to purchase them. Once this tranche of tokens sells out the price will jump from one Hive to 1.5 Hive each. My advice is to buy in early while they are less expensive! Plus you will make money as soon as this batch sells out due to the price increase! All Hive from token purchases is locked into Hive Power and will never be powered down.

Other Tokens

No earthshattering changes here, I am continuing to collect DBOND and DAB. I have both my DBONDs and DABs staked, so the staked DBOND produces more DAB, and the staked DAB produces more DBOND. Earn by doing absolutely nothing. Passive income at it's best, so they are slowly growing. I still want to increase my EDS holding to over 200, but that will be a goal for the next year. I have been fortunate enough to win a couple tokens from Saturday Savers as well as an EDSMM to mine some EDS as well. Thank you Saturday Savers!

Silver

Ah, I love the color of silver and gold... I would have made a good pirate! Precious metals are a great way to invest and to build personal wealth. They have always had value even in prehistoric times and will as well in the future. Silver is used in heavily in industrial uses making it increasingly in demand. I wouldn't be surprised to see silver challenge some all time highs in the near future.

Silver did see some losses this week but holds above the thirty dollar level. Only a year ago in was ten dollars cheaper! Holding silver and gold over the long term is one of the best ways to build personal wealth.

Every week I like to show some fun ways you can invest in silver besides boring old bars or coins. But to be honest those aren't boring to me personally, I like silver in any form! But this will be a fun way to invest and start our own silver stash.

How about a ten ounce 50 caliber silver bullet in the form of pure silver? As a armed forces veteran I can say these are really cool! This is ten Troy ounces of pure silver, a great way to invest. I personally want one, this next year I'll have too fix that! Just a quick reminder for all you werewolf hunters, it doesn't fire, it's just silver. You can buy actual bullets made of silver but I wouldn't recommend it since werewolves aren't a very common problem!
