A Silver Elephant form Sparks, Nevada, Silver Hits $92!
It has been another wild day in the world of silver investing! Not to mention the surge in Bitcoin prices up to $97K as well, it's turning out to be an exciting week! But before I dive into more about silver prices I wanted to share a Silver Striker token that I've been meaning to post for some time now. It's a real beauty.
Silver Striker tokens were commemorative tokens that could be won by playing the Silver Striker slot machines in casinos around the world. Some of them were even made of silver, which is what I like to collect. These slots are pretty much a thing of the past now sadly. I prefer to collect these tokens from defunct casinos since they are pieces of history. This one technically qualifies since the casino was sold and rebranded.
The John Ascuaga Nugget was located in Sparks, Nevada which is a suburb of Reno. Opening originally in 1955, it was sold and rebranded in 2013. But the casino itself has been in business for over 70 years!
About the token:

This token is just about 0.6 Troy ounces of pure silver surrounded by a brass ring. It's also in really nice condition. Sparks isn't a place I've ever visited, but the casino is a legendary landmark in the Reno area. I got this on eBay at some point years back, not exactly sure when. But the best part is that the token is .999 pure silver!
Bertha the Elephant
At John Ascuaga's Nugget a big draw were the elephants, in particular the most famous pachyderm by the name of Bertha. They also had Tina and Angel, but Bertha was the star of the show and the unofficial mascot of Reno, Nevada for many years. Animals now have been mostly phased out of casino shows and circuses which is a good thing as they were often mistreated. But this is a throw back to a time when you could see the elephants up close and personal.

And below you can see Bertha's signature trick, she must have had excellent equilibrium. And the performers must have had a lot of trust in the elephant. Some of these animals can be unpredictable, but apparently she was very tame.

Silver
As I predicted, silver is still on the climb. It pushed to over $92 for a new all time high, and that $100 mark is looking pretty close! The silver supply crunch has been getting worse ever since China put restrictions on exports of the metal. Problem being in this is that they are the world's top producer of silver. Not only that, they have the most refineries as well. That leaves the rest of the world's industries all scrambling to find enough silver to produce needed components for cars, planes, computers, smart phones, medical equipment and drugs, etc...
Silver could rise past $125 per Troy ounce in the very near future, and Bank of America is predicting up to over $300 per Troy ounce this year. It's always a smart time to invest in silver! Here's the chart over the last month alone:

That B&W shot of Bertha pulling a slot machine lever appears to be a Canadian actor Lorne Green in the photo, a can vaguely remember him on a Science fiction TV program ...original Battlestar Galactica I believe. I bet his starship needed silver for critical functions.

It may be, they didn't state the names of the men in the picture as the elephant was the start of the show! I remember watching Bonanza reruns when I was a kid, I haven't seen it in many, many years now!

It may not come any time soon. The shortage is getting worse, not better. They will try to slap it down again at comex, but it won't last!

If I heard correctly, they just temporarily suspended US silver eagle sales if I had to make a guess it’s probably because they’re having a hard time sourcing the Silver blanks🙄
It will be interesting to see how this vote goes tomorrow and if things keep going up. I saw that coinbase doesn't necessarily support the language, so that could end up being an issue.
Things are wild everywhere in the markets today... We'll see if things stabilize a bit more tomorrow!
If silver gets up to $300 an ounce, I'll be selling the shit out of some of my stack.
I think we all will, and converting it to gold!
