Phantom of the Abyss in Action

Today I'm going to talk about the Phantom of the Abyss card, so join me on this brief journey of knowledge in Splinterlands.

I'm a big fan of cards from older editions in the game, and for that reason I play in the Wild format. The rewards aren't better than in the Modern format, but I can use cards from all editions.

  • If you're new to Splinterlands, know that in the Modern format you can only use cards from the Rebellion and Arcane Conclave editions currently.

Now let's get to the main focus, which is the Phantom of the Abyss card.

This is Phantom of the Abyss, a legendary Water Deck card belonging to the Untamed edition and a powerful ally with spell attack for battles in Splinterlands.

The mana cost of Phantom of the Abyss is high, so you won't be able to use it easily in every battle, but when you have high mana available, it will be a great option.

Now let's look at the card's abilities: Flying, Dodge, Demoralize, and Headwinds.

Flying: +25% chance to evade physical attacks. No effect if the attacker also has Flying. Immune to Earthquake.

This ability will be a great ally for Phantom of the Abyss to easily dodge attacks.

Dodge: +25% chance to evade physical attacks.

Combining the Dodge ability with the Flying ability, Phantom of the Abyss will not be an easy target to hit.

Demoralize: -1 melee power to all enemy units.

I love using debuffs, and Demoralize is great for weakening enemy cards that have melee attacks.

Headwinds: Reduces the Ranged attack of all enemy units by 1.

Another very useful debuff for battles.

Phantom of the Abyss is a great combination of Attack Power, Evasion, and Debuffs.

Now let's take a quick look at how Phantom of the Abyss performs in battles.

Watch The Battle

This battle has the Earthquake rule, which means it's a great time to use the Phantom of the Abyss card because it has the Flying ability, so it won't take damage from the Earthquake rule.

It wasn't an easy battle, but in the end, I was victorious.

Now I'll talk about the Arcade Colony platform. On it, you'll find the games: Splinterlands, Moon Karts, StakeHouse Den, and Genesis League Goals.

For those unfamiliar with Arcade Colony, it's owned by Invennium Corp. Arcade Colony is a platform for arcades and video games with a functional economy based on a governance token, "COLONY", and a product-backed stablecoin called "SCRIPT".

Invennium Corp. is a 100% subsidiary of Splinterlands.
