A strong defense is essential in battles in Splinterlands, and for that reason today I'm going to talk about the Baakjira card, so join me on this brief journey of knowledge.

This is Baakjira, a legendary card from the Water Deck and your best ally in this deck when it comes to defending in battles.

Baakjira is the type of card you'll use in the first position because it has great defensive abilities, so it will be a true defensive wall for battles.

Now let's learn about Baakjira's incredible abilities.

Void: 50% less damage (rounded up) from magic attacks or 0 damage from magic attacks of 1 power.

If we're talking about defensive abilities, then this is one of the best because it will help you against enemy cards that have magic attacks.

Slow: -1 speed to all enemy units.

Debuffs are great choices because they make life difficult for the opponent in battles.

Strengthen: +1 max health to all allied units.

Buffs are also great in battles because they help allied cards.

Heal: Each round, restores 1/3 of max health (rounded down).

This is also one of the best abilities for defensive cards because it helps the card survive longer.

Now that we know how Baakjira works, let's see it in practice in battle.

Watch The Battle

In this battle, there's the Broken Arrows rule, which means neither player can use ranged attack cards. Therefore, Baakjira becomes an even better choice because there's a high chance my opponent will use several cards with magic attacks.

I was right, and Baakjira was the best defense I could have chosen, which is why I easily defeated my opponent without losing any of my cards in the battle.
