A Powerful Defense in the Reverse Speed

(edited)

Today I'm going to talk about the Living Lava card, so join me on this brief journey of knowledge in Splinterlands.

One of the rules I hate most in Splinterlands is Reverse Speed, because in this rule the card with the lowest attack speed attacks first. Since most of my strategies are with cards that have a large amount of attack speed, this is a terrible strategy for me.

Reverse Speed: During the Reverse Speed Modifier, Units with the lowest speed attack first and have the highest chance to evade attacks.

When this battle rule is in effect, the main strategy is to use cards with low attack speed, and the Living Lava card will be a great ally in battle.

This is Living Lava, a rare card from the fire deck that costs 7 mana to use in battles. This is the type of card I will only use under the Reverse Speed rule because in other battles I don't consider it very useful and there are better options.

The low attack speed isn't the only reason I choose Living Lava for battles with the Reverse Speed rule; it also has great abilities.

Living Lava has 3 abilities: Shield, Rust, and Thorns.

Shield: 50% less damage (rounded up) from physical attacks or 0 damage from physical attacks of 1 power.

This is a great ability to counter cards with melee and ranged attacks.

Rust: -2 armor to all enemy units.

Armor is a powerful defense against melee and ranged attacks, so reducing enemy armor is very useful.

Thorns: Returns 2 physical damage to the attacker when hit by a melee attack.

Another useful ability against melee attacks.

Living Lava is not only a great option for the Reverse Speed rule, but also a great card to counter cards with melee and ranged attacks, especially melee attacks.

But as I mentioned before, I like to use Living Lava only in the Reverse Speed rule because there are better options in the fire deck for the other types of battles.

Now I'll talk about the Arcade Colony platform. On it, you'll find the games: Splinterlands, Moon Karts, StakeHouse Den, and Genesis League Goals.

For those unfamiliar with Arcade Colony, it's owned by Invennium Corp. Arcade Colony is a platform for arcades and video games with a functional economy based on a governance token, "COLONY", and a product-backed stablecoin called "SCRIPT".

Invennium Corp. is a 100% subsidiary of Splinterlands.
