What was the best crypto surprise for you?

Crypto surprises... I had a lot of surprises in crypto tbh 😅
with my will, "Try to get something as free as possible"

• Stumbled on gold captain ghosts in daily quest from around 1 month of play in splinterlands (overall I just use $10 of my card and I already got it back in just 1 month)
• Won 200 RUSH token in Hash Rush project and transfer it to cash around $100+, ETH gas fee deducted. It had a giveaway before and I won twice 😅
• Lost sum of money because of investing in MyDefiPet (The project is just back to a stable condition as I need more time to get my money back) => First time learning of DYOR and need more research on something + Never want to use real money again.
• Got an invitation to become a scholar from an Axie manager while I didn't know that he was an axie manager before😅. We just talked to each other about crypto-related topics.
• Chain community from Rising Star -> Liotes -> workerbee ph-pool, ctptalk, hive dlease, Leo finance, ... -> listnerds, ...
  *If I don't know liotes project and follow it, I won't find others as easily as now. 🙏

For me it happened in Torum last year. When I found out that even though I hadn't been active for many months I had over 1K worth of Torum to take out and use to get some Hive to invest. Of course I had to to through the ETH hassle to get it but it was a good lesson.

I'm a bit late to the party, but regardless, the biggest surprise for me was when Iconomi, the platform I invested €100 in boom 2017 when I bought their tokens, almost collapsed but they picked up, and now my investment is worth so much that I'm actually afraid to say, basically I have three-quarters of my crypto investments on Iconomi, the rest in BTC and Hive platform.

I think my biggest surprise in crypto was the $GODS token airdrop from Gods Unchained.

Listnerds relaunch has been the crypto surprise of the year, in my opinion!

I received a KRETCH TALLEVOR from one of the Twitter events of Splinterlands team. As of speaking, it is $116 which is amazing! What's great about the card is that it is a summoner with 3 mana and 2 level gold that help me use my monster cards in higher levels. IMHO, this is the best crypto surprise that I've experienced so far :)

My biggest crypto surprise was probably when I completed enough missions in Rising Star to earn a free pack and then I found the legendary John card in it! That single card makes up much of my fanbase.

Hi. My Best surprise was when I found Gold Foil Lava Launcher from Silver 3 daily quest.

My biggest crypto surprise was learning about HIVE as a marketer and now being a full-on HIVE believer as a community member. Earning crypto is important, but the success of HIVE has become bigger than that to me.

My biggest crypto surprise is when I got a gold foil Djinn Renova, I sold it for almost 100$ 😄
Today this card is worth 16$ so it was a good decision to sell ahah

Crypto surprises are great. I love it when an air drop is announced. Those are always a great surprise for me.

my best crypto surprise was to succeed getting the $20 worth of ETH welcome bonus from God Unchained and $15 more from 3 reffered,
I'm still playing this game and sold $22 woth extra cards so far.

What I love about crypto, and it still surprises me every time it happens, is the creativeness of the people involved. First it was simply blockchain. Then it evolved into much more than that. And there are no signs of a slowdown!

There were so many I probably won't remember half of them. Yeah, I have GFLs in Splinterlands and also a legendary card on Rising Star, and I'm grateful for both. But the world of crypto is full of rewards, some unexpected and free, some planned for. Most of us received and will continue to receive significant airdrops in the crypto world. And while I'm very happy like everybody when I see them coming, it gives me more satisfaction when my long term activity and plans/goals are achieved and pay off.

My greatest surprise was getting a gold CTPswarm boost NFT and I currently use it as my Screensaver. It was a surprise and a great one too.

Yesterday I discovered that I had received a total of 18 Listnerds tokens for sending out an email - never been paid the equivalent of $36 for sending an email on a safelist before!

So that was nice.

But I also want to mention another crypto "surprise" that affected my behaviour this week, and that was discovering that Splinterlands are paying out 32% p/a on staked SPS tokens.

So instead of selling of SPS whenever they dropped into my account, I'm now accumulating and staking them!

And to do that I have to log in to Splinterlands... and that caused me to check out the game that I have been avoiding up until now! And so I am getting drawn into playing the game, though I have no ambitions to rise through the ranks just yet!

My biggest surprise has to be when TLM mooned last year after I had been playing Alien Worlds for a month. I was brand new to Crypto, and had only moved $5 or so into Wax. Then suddenly I was looking at $300 in Wax in my account. !LUV

Probably one of the many airdrops that I've received, from UNI to Badger Sett, to Gods Unchained tokens. Not life-changing amounts of money but it's always nice to receive free stuff 😆

My biggest "surprise" would definitely have to be the whole HIVE-forking-away-from-that-other-chain thing. I found crypto in August of 2017 and rode the first pump when Bitcoin went to $20k. As I've said before, I 15x'd my account and then spent the next few months watching the crypto winter wither everything away. With the negativity in the markets, I certainly didn't have any interest in getting more of it by participating in the "flag wars" and shouting matches going on. So I pretty much left crypto altogether. I didn't sell anything, but I quit watching it.

It wasn't until about a year and a half ago that I started paying attention again (as Bitcoin started pushing $20k). I was astonished to find out that not only was this HIVE thing I'd gotten in my wallet worth something, it was actually the real chain. Once I started looking around again I realized that it was much, MUCH better than what I was dealing with at the old place and I've been building my bags ever since.

I've gotten a few nice "surprises" from Splinterlands. For example, when I first got involved last summer I bought some land for around $100 and it went to over $400 in about a week. That was nice. I also got a Gold Foil Kretch Tellavor in one of my first season rewards (I've yet to get another gold foil card in those chests despite now getting 40 and 50 each season).

The other surprise would probably be my impulse buy of a little HEX over a year ago. I didn't get much but I threw a little money at it when it was just under a penny and have since found out it could end up being a major home run. You just never know.

The one thing I've learned is that you really can't be "surprised" by anything that happens in crypto these days. It's still so new that basically anything can happen (and usually does at some point). That's why I just keep building in HIVE. The surprises coming here tend to keep getting better and better. Hopefully we'll be surprised one day and see HIVE go over $10, although by then, I think most of us will expect it rather than have it be a surprise.

I have had many crypto surprises, almost all of them good. It would be difficult to choose one in particular. For me it is more of an era, the era of ICOs as I call it. In that period I made a lot of money, a lot of money.
Good idea to promote yourself in Listnerds, of course you have my vote in favor there.

Another Listnerd success story.

For me, it was the airdrop by Uniswap. Woke up one day and there were 400 UNI available.

It was probably my only legendary card Steevc in Rising Star. I got it from the bonus packs for completing X amount of missions and I haven't gotten another legendary since.

I got super lucky with the timing, even though I never understood a thing...But kept stacking and now I've fallen in love with it!

I received the VYB airdrop which I was not expecting. I joined hive last April and had published several posts in POB over the first few months on the hive platform and had always staked my author and curation awards. Due to this, the airdrop was over 1,000 tokens that I had not expected. I was very surprised but very elated to have received it.

The best crypto surprise I've received was a 'Gold Foil Legendary' card from Splinterlands. I won this as a reward for being one of the top purchaser's of ListNerd tokens prior to the ListNerds mailing tool relaunch back in mid January this year.
