Who are your favorite Hive users?

On the surface, this appears to be a standard question, and it is, but not entirely. Most of the time, when you ask the question "favorite," the first thing that comes to mind is "content creation", which is likely because we mostly interact with people here through their content, and this is how we believe we get our first impressions of who they are.

However, people are not the same as they appear to be. People choose complete, partial, or no anonymity, and as a result, we rely primarily on what they post on social front on Hive.

Back in the day, we would get random accounts that curated posts out of the blue, which made it even more enjoyable because we were not affiliated with them in any way.

We would then follow these accounts, seeing them as benefactors and Messiah-incarnate, and tag them as the good guys. However, in most of those cases, they were neither good nor bad people; they were simply a part of the system, participating in the game of curation, from which they also benefited.

It is the same with accounts that follow downvote trails; sometimes these accounts only join these trails to combat abuse on the chain, but because they have given permission to a proxy to use their downvote power, it is easy to dismiss them as bad people, but they aren't.

People are not the content they create, good or bad; rather, they are what they want you to see and consume.

With that said, there are users we follow who may not be great content creators or the edicteds of this chain; in fact, they may not even be native English speakers and cannot even put a verb in front of a noun, but we value them and the contributions they make to this space.

For example, I saw a post from a splinterlands whale On Twitter, He was commending an auction of about 1.3 million DEC made by a Hive old-timer for a certain card.

Then someone commented on the tweet, pointing out that this particular user would still be on the chain if he had not been downvoted by another whale. Apparently, this fellow did not like that someone who could contribute to the ecosystem was scared away with downvotes.

My point is that there are people who are particularly relevant in this ecosystem, and we sometimes have personal biases toward them. They may not be relevant to the chain, but we are likely to benefit in some way from their presence on it.

There are so many aspects to Hive, and there are people who are relevant in places we may not even be aware of, and we can usually see them in the types of interactions they have. However, Hive's flexibility makes people relevant today but irrelevant tomorrow.

For example, there are big account names that we associate with curation; they were like the holy grail in 2017, but they are now ghost accounts. This is especially true because people's priorities shift over time, whether intentionally or unintentionally, and sometimes that is just the way it is.

This is true for almost everyone; there are people to whom we are sentimentally attached, as well as for personal reasons, and these people are sometimes the reason we remain motivated or push forward. I mostly enjoy learning new things.

For example, I am constantly hustling to learn more about cryptocurrency, and I still do not know half of what I want to know, so I take advantage of every opportunity to learn. The strange thing is that some of these people, I do not even really talk to them or their content; I follow and learn from afar, and they are probably my favorites.

Favorite Hive Users

For the people I follow, it is obvious in how I interact with them, because the knowledge they have shared, as well as some of their activities and overall persona, have helped me in a variety of ways, and these are the people I am referring to; you may not share or tag them due to spam, but you can simply discuss their impact and all that.

Counted in your list as much as 11 Hiveans known to me, and most of them are great persons to communicate! (both nice personality, vision and intresting content).

I always like to see this kind of post, when people share their favorite Hivians and in that way, motivate each other, and show appreciation... Sometimes, we forget that it's important to publicly share appreciation...

But, you are right about different aspects of the word "favorite Hivian"... It's not just content, it is a person behind that screen, and when you meet (even virtually, through comments) that person, then you can call it a friend... not a favorite Hivian... :)

Sharing my time to write a comment on a certain post (and author) is a clear sign that he/she is my "favorite Hivian", as I want to spend my time with him/her...

Yeah, sometimes we just forget to appreciate those that have really contributed to our journey, been a part of our story and progress. Although I don't publicly tell my favorite users here that they're my favorite users, just like you, most of them already know with the way I'm engaged with them.

It's mostly not about content for me likewise, I feel an all round personality makes up the entities of people and that's why I didn't say favorite creator as well. Someone might right good contents, yet, we don't feel any affiliation or special bias for them.

Sharing my time to write a comment on a certain post (and author) is a clear sign that ...

Well said! Time of our life time is a precious thing, indeed. So it is a good sign.

What a coincidence...just two days ago, I was speaking to a friend who I invited to Hive and still haven't had the time to be consistent. I told him I have favourites here and one of them is you because of a lot I have learnt from your posts. I told him how one of your posts I read long time ago of positioning ourselves for this bull run, how you said if we missed this period, that would be us waiting for another opportunity in 4 years to come. I said to him, "It's always ringing in my head every time I remember that post"

Your posts are always a reminder for me not to miss out on this moment, especially when you start talking about life. Sincerely, I am always looking forward to your posts every time. I may not get to comment on all especially those I would go over to read again to fully grasp the meaning but you are one fellow I always look forward to here on Hive.

In reality, if I actually knew what I knew from a year or two year ago in 2021, maybe I'll have been in a better financial situation now. Anyone who misses the bull run that'll likely leak in 6 to 8 months time will likely have to wait another four years, and in that four years anything might have happened or they might have lose faith and hope and lose the opportunity to set themselves up.
But Making good use of the upcoming opportunities means that that person can still position themselves up for 4 years time and in another 8 years when next run after the one in four years would have happened.
If I had anyone post anything related to this, I might have been a different person today, so I'm glad that statement really stayed with you

Yea. I am glad and find myself lucky this time. It would be my first time experiencing bull run and I hope to enjoy something from it. Thank you, once again.

Assuming as markets grow by trillions that we can count on same exact timing 8 years out is a fool’s errand. My prediction we’ll see more picky market with losers not just winners even this upcoming 2025 action. ESP 2029. !PIMP

My interests on Hive shifted in time, so I now read mostly informational posts about the ecosystem due to the nature of my activity and the weekly report, but there are people I read almost regardless of what they post about. In fact, I like to see what else they come up to talk about.

P.S. I joined the faucet using your ref link. 😉

Haha just like you, I'll mostly read anything some of my favorite users create. I understand you have to consume contents about the ecosystem in order to report about them, I think there's nothing really wrong with it.
I read a lot of crypto contents to be to understand and to be able to create crypto contents too.

Thanks for joining with my ref..

I'm the same, my interactions say a lot more than particular people. Some people may be great writers but don't like to engage, or when they do it's very curt or abrupt for lack of a better word. It's doesn't feel genuine. I interact with people who are interesting and I find them friendly. Plus some I follow because they produce material that I wan to learn more about, but there are only so many hours in the day to learn all that I would like.

Keep up the good work, I hope you are feeling well!

0.00019809 BEE

That's good choice there. Personally, I think uniqueness and originality is important, doesn't really have to be about chasing anything out there. I have known people who create but don't engage, unfortunately I don't I follow them anymore

I don't have as much time as I would like too. In my younger years, when I was freer and fitter, if I had dedicated a lot of my time to learning, it might have been better for me.

0.00080036 BEE

I understand that feeling all too well! lol

0E-8 BEE

I am in the same boat with you. After all, lets dont forget Hive is a social blockchain 😎

0E-8 BEE

Some of my favorite creators on Hive has to be Josediccus, mipiano, machiata, jhymi and ifarmgirl. Reason because they don't just write, but they talk . It's more like I'm having a conversation with them and it's never boring to read no matter how long.
And there's always a lot of information and things to learn on their blog.

0.00019777 BEE

Thanks for taking off the tag, I think it's better that way. Yes, you've stated what feels unique for you, and I think I get the idea of what you mean about these people, thanks for dropping by.

Yh,
I also joined with the link 😅

@meesterboom is my favorite HIVEr.. his posts are hilarious, based on real life. And he has a great way of telling a story

Hehe, cheers man! 😃

It depends, but I think it depends from person to person. There are people that I regularly visit and I would say that they are my favorites. I only have a few hours every night.

0.00010003 BEE

I understand. Nowadays I can only get in a few hours due to family duties. I have a few people that are my favorite users too, I think I just keep it to myself sometimes
