I recently saw a post with the stats of Hive users who are have earned the most Hive and HBD commenting on posts that have set comment Rewarder as beneficiaries and it was actually very good to see.
I noticed some familiar names on the post, which inspired me to use CR today to further reward the comments of those who interact with my posts.
So, based on what I have gathered, anyone can choose to share 3% of their potential reward with their commentor, but they must upvote the comments to which they wish to give the reward. I believe this helps to reduce the number of automated comments receiving some of the rewards that original comments should receive.
This allows people who do not have much hive power to actively reward or appreciate comments on their posts. Many users want to reward people who engage with their posts, and they can do so through the potential rewards available.
3% is a small amount that will not kill the author, and I believe it is one of the most important motivators for engagement.
So, one interesting thing is that it may encourage people to comment mostly on posts that designate comment rewarders as beneficiaries, but on second thought, most engagement is done for the purpose of connection anyway.
Whatever purpose people choose to engage, I think they deserve to be rewarded no matter how little it is.
Content consumption is just as important as content creation; without the former, the latter has no value.
50% of the time, the value of content is determined by the feedback it receives. If there were no viewers or consumers on platforms such as YouTube and Facebook, perhaps they would consider returning some of the money made from content creation to those who are the true consumers and make the money.
Unfortunately, this is not the case. So, having CR on Hive is not only innovative, but it also rewards consumers.
Imagine if a frontend like PeakD automatically returns 1% of author rewards to their creators; I think it is reasonable.
It may not matter much to consumers, but a user who consistently engages may earn 1 to 2 Hive per week by consuming and engaging with their favorite posts. However, this could be abused because the "nice post" population will use it to do engagement farming.
So I think CR is ideal because people can choose how they want to reward their customers at their own discretion.
So, it is an incredible idea, and I am seeing users taking advantage of this to further incentivize their customers.
Another advantage of CR is that it can assist users in actually protecting their voting power. Some of my posts receive more than 10 to 15 comments, accounting for an average of 9% of my voting power. If I multiply 12 comments by 9% voting power, I am using 100.8% of my voting power each day, which reduces my voting weight by about 3%.
Now there are some comments that form a thread and a continuous conversation; I have not included the additional votes that go to comments as well.
However, I might have overestimated the amount of voting power required to vote on comments. My point here is that one may not need to save that extra voting power in their comment section when they can use CR to distribute a portion of their potential author's reward.
So, in the future, I will be using CR on a few of my posts, and it will be interesting to see how the experiment goes. It is simple; add CR as a beneficiary to your author's reward and up to 3%

Greetings @josediccus ,
Hope you are feeling better.
Enjoyed reading your thoughts with regard to Comment Rewarder...especially the part about conserving your voting power....interesting.
Thank you for giving it a go....looking forward to seeing how it works for you.
Kind Regards,
Bleujay
This a million, I'm looking to seeing how it goes, but I know it'll be a very good decision for me especially for the comments on my posts.
Yes, I think it helps you to conserve hive power to an extent, although it won't change too much the way I actually curate comments
Iโve seen this happening a lot lately and need to play with it myself. Iโm thankfully not one to be nervous about using too much hive power voting comments as I can give them a decent vote with 7% and go to lots of them if I want, but itโs good to give them a little extra as well!
It's good to give extra, which I've made sure to actually do in this post.
I've been worrying about giving too much vote weight and end up hurting the voting power that's needed for actual curation, so I think CR is the answer.
So... You're thinking to reduce your own vote weight on comments and compensate by the additional rewards coming from CR? At the expense of a little of your author rewards. That seems like a good tradeoff, especially if you use your VP a lot.
My voting power is always at 60% at some of my worst Curation day when I'm trigger happy (curating too much) and just above it sometimes and I've tried a lot and cent seem up get it done, maybe something like this should help even if it only helps a little. It's a good trade-off.
Sweet, go, ales, ales, ales!!!
I have noticed that some people have used it, but I haven't bothered. I try to vote most of the commenters in my posts and I can get above the dust threshold. So I never felt the need to.
Well if your voting power is still healthy after doing comment curation, then you might not really need this one.
Sounds to me like Commentrewarder will work well for those who don't have enough Hive power to upvote good engagement beyond the infamous dust threshold... or would burn up all their voting power upvoting comments.
I like that the percentages vary... I've seen as much as 25% shared!
25% that's outrageous though, I haven't seen anyone do that except for test running how it actually works
So far I really like it. I've been setting mine at ten percent but will be cutting back because I keep getting Hive refunded to me from commnentrewarder. So maybe 5 or even 3? I'll see what happens the next few days...
I think that if you set it too high not all of it gets used? Not sure...
Someone in the comment section says they've seen someone set it up to 25% lol. Although it depends on how much the post actually earns and also how many people actually comment on it .
I agree! I guess I just need more engagement to pass out all of the Hive and HBD!
I think if such systems are implemented well, those who read the posts well and take their time to engage and make Hive a social community deserve the rewards, more than an author can give as rewards.
It is all about how engagement is based and commentators should get their share. I wouldnโt mind adding 3% as comment rewards, but Hive lacks whale like the past, I really miss their supports too.
Unfortunately there are no whales anymore, you have to naturally grind your ways by having distinctive strategies..
I see lots of whales out there
First time to hear about CR. It's a great tool to give incentives to commenters.
Maybe something like "threadrewarder" would be implemented on #InLeo sooner or later. ๐๐คฃ๐

Can you go higher than 3% ? Say 50 %
I'm not sure, for people who went really high, it returned the reward back to them
Ok.. so maybe 5% is better
The initiative to reward comments is a good one and will motivate people to engage with posts. And you're right without engagement posts are valueless. But at least the commenters should be in it not just for the reward but to provide positive feedback and support. Per my experience, positive comments encourage the author to do more. Thanks for recording your thoughts and have a good weekend.
I'm trying it out for the first time, and hopefully I'll continue to do it. I love ty initiative
Hello, @josediccus I use it in all my posts and I love it, it encourages participation and also to read the comments on your posts, respond, and vote.
Excellent Post
Yes, I'm just beginning to use it, so let's see how it goes
I also use it in my posts. Please feel free to comment in my posts ๐
Thanks man

That's great. The more, the better.
I saw this once on #ecenywave, never really thought about it, I feel the ultimate goal is go promote engagement among users and also to push more on content digestion, so authors feel more appreciated.
As you said it also give you control over how u distribute voting, cause not everyone actually read through the words you write
Well, engagement should be enjoyed, it's better a person avoids a post completely than trying the force themselves to consume it.
For me, I see this as a way to just incentivize comment on my post
thats true
I have been working on this platform for a long time and I do 40-50 comments daily so this is good because people comment very hard.
This is a great initiative that can help there be more interaction between users. I've been supporting this since I found out :)

Very interesting, I'll try using it
I keep hearing about CR and will be curious to get your feedback after the experiment is done. Please do a follow up post!
Just know there is such feature, thanks for the information

@josediccus, I paid out 0.492 HIVE and 0.091 HBD to reward 14 comments in this discussion thread.
This is excellent. Iโm going to give it a try. I noticed that I received both Hive and HBD from @commentrewarder in my wallet today so I need to figure out how that happened.
