I made a PolyGon wallet finally and Claimed my PolyCub airdrop!

Okay, so its not as bad as I was fearing.

I already have metamask, and PolyCub.com automatically adds the network.

Here's the guide that @roleerob kindly shared with me.

The only thing is - Polycub adds it 'wrong'.

@edicted and @nealmcspadden helped me in the LEO discord.

image.png

It turns out crypto is a really social phenomenon, sharing the information is an important part of the process.

image.png

I'm heading over to Polycub.com because I want to claim my Polycub airdrop. I am way behind the times, I still don't really know how it works, but that's what this crazy space is all about - learning.

If I have some tokens, I will be motivated to read the posts about how it all works - at least that's the goal. I have been CUB den-ing with some spare funds for 100 years it seems like, so why not claim my free tokens.

image.png

So you might have heard that PolyCub is going to build out an HBD:USDC pool, and they are shooting for 5MM dollars in liquidity. As someone who has been supporting expanding HBD utility in DEFI stable protocols (consider my proposal to deepen the HBD:BUSD liquidity pool that already exists) - I support what they are doing.

This is exactly the same as the SWAP.HBD:SWAP.BUSD pool - wrapped versions of the tokens - its just that as my proposal hasn't gotten enough votes, I feel like the LEOfinance team will actually have the grit to give yield to the pool to make it work, something that those on HIVE seem unwilling to do from the DHF fund. BXT has done this for SWAP.HBD:SWAP.BUSD.

So these advances are treading known, and important territory. This is how networks develop! Can't be married to any one branch - they should all grow!

image.png

When you are doing new things, anything can seem like an error. I made some clicks, went to BSC and back, and then got worried about what I was seeing.

image.png

I needed to get some MATIC to make the airdrop claim, and so I went to BeeSWAP to buy some with SWAP.HIVE.

image.png

Then I went to https://tribaldex.com/wallet/ to withdraw the SWAP.MATIC for MATIC in my metamask wallet.

image.png

I am not sure how big the transaction fees will be, I guess we are going to find out.

Boy - seems pretty cheap!

image.png

So now what do I do with it? I have heard about xPolyCub and the ratio, and in the recent HBD post I read that these will have governance power to distribute yields in the future. I will definitely be voting for the HBD pool.

image.png

So I guess I have to enable first, another tx with 0.005 MATIC cost, about 3/4 of a penny, not bad, although not nearly as good as HIVE.

image.png

Turns out the approval was 0.0027 and the staking was 0.0135 - but either way a few cents is pretty cheap to stake my 66 dollars into xPolyCub.

Now I own 0.01% of the pool!

image.png

Who knows what the future will hold, but I am hugely bullish on projects with active devs, like LEOfinance, as well as on the potential for HBD integration to moon the price of HIVE.

Only time will tell!

Months behind 🤑

So much to learn! In the end it was way easier than I anticipated. But how can I complain about 66 free buckeroos anyways?

Yes, happy to help, my friend! If you are determined to use MetaMask ... 😉

I personally have not used MetaMask for months (for which I am thankful, given their recent "centralization" moves ...) Instead, I find the Rabby wallet to be far more attractive.

Among its features?

Users don't have to mess with manually setting up a new EVM-based blockchain. Rabby handles it for you automatically! 😉😉

Anyway, great to have you "onboard" with your PolyCub position, as we all look forward to seeing how this pHBD roll-out unfolds ...

Onward and upward! 🦁🚀

If it is curious how we contribute liquidity to Defi outside of Hive and little in Defi Hive. But I guess it's a question of volume and crossing strings is always positive. I am curious how they are going to get the 5 million liquidity in the HBD/USDC pair when now there are only 6 million liquid HBD if not I am wrong.

If we do this, we could possibly destroy the whole project with runaway inflation.... possibly.

But the answer is - we have to print it.
Its getting printed on your posts and comments right now.

But anyone can print more - there's a catch - it costs 1.05 in HIVE to do it.

So, we can print more HBD, possibly driving up the HIVE price while doing so. As the price of HIVE goes up, the more HBD users can print with each HIVE.

We could print billions, and pump our HIVE token price doing it.

What's the risk? Each HBD can be used to create HIVE. If after such a speculative uproar, after HIVE goes to 50 dollars and I'm printing 49.5 HBD each, HIVE price could go down.

It could go down to, say, 5 dollars.

At that point, I can use 49.5 HBD to print ~10 HIVE, when only 1 HIVE was burnt making them.

This could potentially create 'infitite' (or at least a lot more) inflation for HIVE. Some people think it could collapse the whole ecosystem.

Which is why a stable price of HIVE is so important and why HBD holders are smart to sell pumps and buy dips of HIVE price on the internal market, to keep the HIVE price more or less stable.

B20. This is dangerous, the coin can get into the eye) I would like something from UFM coins to fall from the sky, lol, what are the plans for this coin, or is that project completely dead?

A great tuitive guide for polygon wallet. This is good to follow. There was a matic site that gives you free matic. But it's a small amount, enough for about 5 transactions !

Link me if you remember!

You can try https://matic.supply/

I haven't used it for a while, this faucet gives you about 0.01 matic. Now i can buy 1 matic, enough for at least 30 transaction on hive-engine !

I think the easiest tool to add a network is chainlist. It was passed around but it does all the work to add the network and I saw it being talked about when Polygon went live.
