Fishermen are those people who even joke very quietly, because wherever they are they are potentially afraid of scaring away a large fish.
And when a fisherman has a view of a quiet pond, where there are no extraneous sounds except for the croaking of frogs and the chirping of crickets then any words that can disturb this idyll disappear somewhere as unnecessary.
