I want to become a beekeeper! - When bees are doing well, beekeepers are doing poorly.

Studying the basics of beekeeping as a part of agriculture, I was surprised many times by the fact that beekeeping is unlike anything we know about keeping any other animals, birds, livestock and fish.

Yes, when keeping most animals, people try to create the most favorable conditions for them to get an increase in chicken eggs, milk from cattle and an increase in live weight of all those we consider as sources of meat products.

The richer the feed, the more care we give, the better the result.

And beekeeping goes against what we, people, call good, for example, when we have worked well, we see the result of our work and can rest and this is good.

When working with bees, everything is different.

If you let the bees rest, they will enter a roaring state and leave the hive.

Constantly stimulating bees to work does not seem humane, but otherwise, there is no point in keeping bees, especially if you have spent a lot of money on organizing an apiary.

Either humaneness or honey.

And for a beekeeper, it is good when there is a lot of honey.

But yes, there are measures to organize feeding of bees during periods without honey, in bad weather, before wintering and after the first flight of bees in the spring, but nothing more.

Of course, there is treatment of bees and disease prevention, but in general, beekeeping is a very tough relationship between bees and a beekeeper, you need to understand this in order to succeed and be ready for it.

And they load the bees with work by expanding the nest with wax foundation and frames with dry bees, divide the nests if necessary, take away honey before the sunflower blooms, and when catching swarms, they give them food frames with honey, forcing the swarm to quickly get to work and reveal its powerful working potential.

Below you can see my containers with data that I collect in INLEO and always have quick access to them it is very convenient.

Material thoughts about beekeeping №1

When I visited dense forests, I did not see ideal conditions for bees there, but many beekeepers harvest beekeeping products in such places.
