Anyone can hide within a flower.

You never know who might poke their nose out from the dark hallway.

That someone isn't always happy to see us, but we photographers certainly hope so.

And in this, photographers symbolize all the people who joyfully welcome the New Year, no matter what it turns out to be.

But if someone never emerges from the flower, dissatisfied and angry, then it's a cold, prickly winter.
