Amazing experience with an Eye doctor today

It was long overdue for me to do my eye checkup. It has been more than 10 years since I dilated my pupil and tested my power. The main reason is that my eye power is pretty much stable and hasn't changed much in the last several years. I should say it has been the same for over a decade.

Today I visited the doctor not to do a thorough checkup, but instead to get an opinion on doing Lasix surgery. I wanted to do it 10 years but my mother advised me not to do it because my life might get miserable if I have problems with my eyes. I know for a fact that Lasix is a simple surgery, but every surgery comes with both good as well as risks. I did not want to take that risk back then, and I didn't go further on that.

Overall, it looks like I'm still eligible for Lasix, but I have to think whether I should be going for it or not. Mostly, I may not go for the surgery, because I might get long-sightedness as my age increases.

Doctors doing charity

The main reason why I wanted to write this article was not about my eye problems, but the way doctors are doing charity work. This particular doctor that I met today is spending his Sundays doing free consultations. He spends the first half of every Sunday seeing outpatients for free in an old-age home. That's where I got the appointment to meet him. I specifically wanted to meet him because I wanted to be sure I'm on the right track. He is a good doctor, and he will not force anything unnecessarily on people. That's the primary reason why I wanted to meet him and get his opinion.

Usually on Sundays, we would want to take rest and enjoy the day off. But every Sunday, he is visiting the charity clinic and doing charity work in the first half of the day. That's the amazing thing for me, and the way he spends time with every patient is amazing. Something that I learnt today from this experience is that no matter what height we might go in our life, we should have the patience and charitable mindset to help those who are in need.

The part you mentioned that we should have a patient and charitable heart got me. If we can all have a good heart and kind to our neighbours and people around us, this world is going to be a better place for us all but what do we do instead, greed, selflessness and 'me' at all time. I must say that almost all of us are guilty of these by the look us 'ego' if it is not me it must not be another person. The doctor does good, and you are kind enough to acknowledge that. It is good you made up your mind to go for a check-up for your eyes. I hope everything turned out well for you.

One thing I noticed here is that you do eye check ups. I make use of glasses and I don’t do check ups. I only renew my glasses when I feel it’s not clear anymore
That means eye check ups is really good for me too, right?

Kudos to that doctor, I think really few docs would do the same

If you don't have any issue, I would leave eyes as they are

If the doctor is good and listens attentively to the patients and gives reassuring answers, then the patient gets better even before half the medicine is given. I also wear glasses and there are many good doctors here in our country and they treat the patients well.

That is a very wonderful doctor to do charity work, I believe many people will be so grateful for his help.
It is the first time I heard about Lasix surgery, gonna read about that. I believe that you have considered all of the option to take the surgery or not, I with wish all the best for you my friend.
