My Experience with Latest Keychain Android Mobile Application

Keychain is an application that makes the hive experience superb. We have a browser extension as well as a mobile app. Earlier I was using a keychain browser extension on PC but on Mobile, I was not using it however this has changed in the last few months. Now I use mobile applications on my Android mobile phone as well as the browser extension on my PC and everywhere I get a fantastic user experience.

Recently keychain has upgraded mobile applications and the updates are already live. I have been testing the mobile application for some time and did encounter some issues that I shared with the team. I am one of the beta registers for this application and I tried using all options to see if there is any bug I encountered. I am going to share my experience in this post only about the Android mobile application.

Latest UI Update

Recent updates are amazing because a couple of things are taken care of by the team. The overall user interface has improved significantly along with multiple new features that make the user experience amazing and take it to the next level. With this latest update, multiple features are added and the UI has also been revolutionised where you get almost everything that you need to access the hive, hive wallet. dApps etc.

• The app has a neat and clean UI with an option to switch between light and dark modes. There is a toggle button that you can switch and I have shared both views however I prefer to use light mode but dark is quite a useful feature, I know.
• You get to see the wallet value according to the latest market price along with layer 1 and layer 2 tokens. This is good to see the overall value and no action is needed to see this view where you can also see the voting mana and resource credits.
• It's like everything you get on the homepage just after opening the application and you can also customise layer 2 tokens as per your convenience but most of the information is available at a glance.

Next-Gen Browser

The browser has got some fantastic makeovers along with multiple features added to this. For example, now you can refresh the page and also switch between mobile and desktop view. You can see the number of tabs open and any specific URL can be marked as a favourite.

On the browser option, you are also getting three tabs to choose from where the ecosystem is quite useful and where you are going to get all popular links. If these links are not enough then anyways you have the option to mark them as a favourite which will be visible on the favourite tab and recent is anyway something where you can see all your recently visited websites. I was missing a lot of features on the browser but thanks to the team that now they have added the experience is superb. I play splinterlands game a lot and now with the switch between mobile and desktop, the experience is just amazing. This updated browser is a next-gen browser where you get everything that you need to access the websites and different urls within the hive ecosystem.

SWAP and Governance

Those who have used the swap function on the keychain must love it because it is hassle-free and any swap can happen within just a few taps. I have used this functionality many times and it works flawlessly without any issues or lag in the processing. The good thing is we don't need to deposit the coin on the hive engine and we can't do the conversion within the application itself using hbd or hive etc. It is not just limited to layer one tokens instead layer 2 tokens can also be used for the swap and that's what makes the overall experience even easier and smooth.

Now talking about the governance part, you can see witness information on the page. There are filters that you can use to see only the ones you voted or the active ones. Now for the witness voting you don't need to go on different tools and all these can be done within the application itself within just a few taps. The next option is for the proposals which are an important part of the hive ecosystem because these are the proposals that empower the project to build innovative solutions that are needed for the community. You can go through the proposal and support the ones you like.

@stoodkev is the CEO of the @Keychain project which is an application where you do almost everything in the Hive. I have seen the application getting upgraded over the period and undoubtedly the key chain team has done fantastic work to make it more useful, fast and flawless. As I already mentioned I am a beta tester for this application and with the recent update I did not encounter any bug in the app. As for my experience, this app is stable and works smoothly without any issues on the latest Android operating system. Its a must-have application for hivers. We need not share any keys every time and it saves time as well. If you are not using it then I suggest you give it a try and you will love the experience.
