Das ist die weltweit erste Bitcoin-Statue von Satoshi Nakamoto, errichtet 2021 in Budapest, Ungarn, vor dem Microsoft-Gebäude. Was für eine Ironie. Microsoft hat 3 Jahre später bei der Aktionärsversammlung darüber abstimmen lassen, ob Microsoft in Bitcoin investieren soll. Die Abstimmung ging allerdings negativ aus.

Die Statue, die dem oder den unbekannten Entwicklern von Bitcoin gewidmet ist, befindet sich im Graphisoft Park außerhalb des Zentrums von Budapest, ist aber mit dem Bus gut erreichbar.

Außerhalb des Zentrums sieht Budapest übrigens nicht mehr so sehr nach Wien aus, sondern die Atmosphäre erinnert mich mehr an die Sowjet-Ära mit den typischen monotonen Blockbauten.

Der Graphisoft Park ist ein Business-Park, wo neben Microsoft auch SAP, Canon und einige Startups vertreten sind. Die große Grünanlage des Parks, die direkt am Donauufer liegt, beherbergt auch viele weitere Statuen wie eine von Steve Jobs oder dem Rubik's Cube.

Errichtet wurde die Satoshi-Statue übrigens von der ungarischen Bitcoin-Community, gespendet von der Kripto Akadémia, Blockchain Budapest-Konferenz und Blockchain Hungary Association und MrCoin, einer ungarischen Krypto-Börse.

Besucher haben sogar Forint-Münzen und Scheine auf die Statue gelegt und sich damit symbolisch von Fiat-Währungen getrennt, die viele Bitcoiner aufgrund der inhärenten Inflation als großen Scam empfinden.

This is the world's first Bitcoin statue of Satoshi Nakamoto, erected in 2021 in Budapest, Hungary, in front of the Microsoft building. What an irony. Three years later, Microsoft put the question of whether Microsoft should invest in Bitcoin to a vote at its shareholders' annual meeting. However, the proposal was rejected.

The statue, which is dedicated to the unknown developer(s) of Bitcoin, is located in Graphisoft Park outside the center of Budapest, but is easily accessible by bus.

Outside the center, Budapest doesn't look so much like Vienna anymore, but the atmosphere reminds me more of the Soviet era with its typical block-style monotonous buildings.

Graphisoft Park is a business park where Microsoft, SAP, Canon and some start-ups are also represented. The park's large green area, which is located directly on the banks of the Danube, is also home to many other statues such as one of Steve Jobs or the Rubik's Cube.

Incidentally, the Satoshi statue was erected by the Hungarian Bitcoin community, donated by the Kripto Akadémia, Blockchain Budapest Conference and Blockchain Hungary Association, and MrCoin, a Hungarian crypto exchange.

Visitors even placed forint coins and bills on the statue, symbolically separating themselves from fiat currencies, which many Bitcoiners consider a big scam due to the inherent inflation.
