Do you know what a Law is in Scotland?
Of course, I hear you say ... It is a rule, something that we have to obey.
Well that is true, but a Law also means a conical hill, and there are quite a few of the around the country.
One of the most famous and iconic is the Dundee Law
Before we start if you want to know about the Dundee Law and how it was formed from a volcano in Stirling then read here.
Today we shall take you up to the top. You can walk or drive. As you can see although it was in Winter (February) it was a gorgeous sunny day.
However it was blowing a hoolie yes it was very windy!
It is The Tay bridge, a structure that I had crossed many many times and more about the rail bridge' later on!
Sometimes I love to get a tour by taxi of a city, even though I sort of knew Dundee, there were some quirks I never knew about. Plus he took us up the Law! That first picture is him parked outside Dundee Football Club on Tannadice Street.
The second picture is him parked up at the top of The Law. Boy was it windy up there!
Dundee Taxi Tours is exactly what it says a tour of Dundee, picking you up from your pre booked pick up point (hotel). Then driving around the city pointing out places of interest that you can visit at your leisure. from Broughty Ferry castle at the mouth of the river to the top of the extinct volcano in the heart of the city and the V&A on the banks of the river stopping along the way for photos. Then dropping you off at a place of your choice.
He is a one man band, and does what he says. Which reminds me I need to leave a review on his site dundeetaxitours
At the top of the Law there are viewing ledges which have signs telling you what you are seeing. This one was on local wildlife...
Look at that view, it really was a belter of a day, so let's zoom in a wee bit.
Dundee was famous for the three J's of
Jam
Journalism
and Jute.
There used to be loads of jute mills all over the place and that is one of the few ones remaining. Do you see the big tower?
Well imagine climbing this?
Scotland being Scotland there was of course nature all around us!
Do you see the snow on the hills in the background? That was as close as I got to see snow this winter.
Even though we had been forecast snow umpteen times, I tell you the weather forecasts now are utter drivel!
I think there were six of the infoboards.
Then we had the Firth of Tay and the two bridges, this one being the Road bridge and you can see the cars crossing and a cool shadow too!
If you know me, then you know I love being close to the water, it is so peaceful.
You can see some jack up platforms that were used in the Oil industry. In the 1970s Dundee Council really screwed up and over charged the oil companies so they set up shop in Aberdeen. Result Aberdeen became the Oil capital of Europe and Dundee got shafted!
The Tay Bridge deserves it's own post, but do you know what is in the water to the left of the bridge?
There is a wonderful castle in Broughty Ferry which is the village in this picture. Can you see the white horses and how rough it was? The castle is coming soon to a post near you!
Being as The Law is the highest point in Dundee, it of course is home to telecoms masts...
Remember I mentioned nature, well have a look at this shot before we leave...
Remember the snow on the hills in the background, well I thought I would zoom in to show @lhes some Scottish snow. Little did I know that someone had different ideas.... Can you see a wee creature on the right of the picture, well look what they did!!!
All images and ramblings are from me, the mad Scotsman TengoLoTodo and pictures were taken with my Canon Bridge camera.

Oh yeah the snow, ❄️! Maybe next winter there will be more!
Would love to climb up those hills!
Yes there is plenty of snow, but not where I am or tend to have lived!
What beautiful scenery, Super Ed. The tower must be a challenge climbing it, but the 360 degree view from the top must be breathtaking.
And of course, I loved the photobomb, it's been a while since you posted one, hehe. ;) 💙🌀
hehe it has been a while since I caught a photobomb Super Eli 🌀💙🌀!
Yeah the tower is tall and if it was windy like that day, then only a nutter would do it!
The curve of the Tay Bridge is so nice.
and I love the seagul/bird in your last photo.

That is an amazing country with many high buildings, rural places, and the railway. And I like your writing style, it is easy to follow. 😍
Thank you White Bean, I try to write so that anyone can read it easily. Yes the famous railway that I travelled on many times. We are never far from the rural countryside even in the cities 😁
What a place, Tito Ed! The tower though, does it have a lift to the top?😊
And that photobomber is another beauty!
hehe CJ oh hell no, when that was built there were no such things as lifts!
Hahaha, I didn't realize it's an old structure, lol! What I'm thinking?🤣

You do have nature all around my fluffy Teng. I could see an elephant, bird, and some other things too. Hehe. Thanks for the walk.
Oh you are so welcome B, it is always fun to get out into the fresh air :)
Hehe... Yeah, it is.
It must take a brave man or woman to climb that tower, it won't be me for sure!
Snow tipped mountains always make a pretty picture not so, but I'm sure you're looking forward to them melting.
Have a great Friday Ed.
Steeplejacks, those guys were hard as nails and that was their job, imagine doing Thanks Lizzie have a great weekend :)
I'd probably freak out while climbing. I don't like heights😅
This was a beautiful place to visit and the picture with the water body was the most outstanding for me. I love water bodies.
You've always got beautiful pictures to share here always.

Yeah it is a great term for a conical Hill!
The photobomber was well cool!
Cracking views from there - I've never been up that hill. And I do know what is in the water next to the bridge, but I'll let someone else guess !
