Hello there!
Having completed my earlier travel posts on several interesting countries, such as Japan, Maldives, Indonesia and US, it's probably time to share about my recent Europe trip! If you are keen to find out which countries and cities I visited, you can read the quick summary here.
There is actually a back story behind this trip. My friend and I planned this trip a few years back and it was supposed to take place in Apr 2020, but as most of you would know, Covid 19 pandemic came and we had to cancel the trip due to all the travel restrictions and health advisories. So we planned for this trip in 2025 and it finally materialised!

Before I start this post, I just want to do a shoutout to Worldmappin's current challenge! You can check out the post here. Less than 1 week left to the end of the challenge! There are some prizes to be won but the most important thing is to have fun!
We continued our way up Duomo di Milano, from where we left off, and up the 90 steps!!! And this was what greeted us when we reached the top! It wasn't an easy climb for sure, 90 steps is probably a few storeys for normal buildings, but all the visitors knew it was worth the climb! There were some restoration works going on and some portions were covered up or barricaded but the view was still good enough!
Everyone was so busy taking photographs, not just of this place, but also the surroundings as well! So it's time to follow them to do the same as well! Hehe!
We just could not get enough of all these statues and structures soaring above into the sky!
While sorting out my photos, I thought this was quite well taken. With just one of the statues in the frame overlooking the entire city. Awesome view!
There's also the "panoramic" version. More statues amidst the detailed structure of the cathedral.
I took this photo facing downwards and here you could see how high we were at.
One last look at the rooftop before we head down! Very beautiful indeed!
Zooming in - if you read my previous post here, you would know who this is!
If climbing 90 steps up was tiring, it was probably equally tiring to descend downwards. Not just 90 steps, but because we took the lift up to mid level (and there was no lift going down), we had to walk all the way down to ground level. Probably 200 to 300 steps in total? On our way down, I took a photo on the plaza beneath the cathedral. What a huge space.
And a final photo from the side.. The statues did seems like they were placed at the same height, no?
And we completed our second part of the tour of Duomo di Milano, which was the rooftop view. I remembered seeing the photos online while planning for this trip and I told myself I had to come and see it for myself. And this definitely met my expectations! What a beautiful place of worship they have in Milan!
And that's all I have today! Have you been to Milan or Italy? Let me know in the comments below!
Finally, thanks for reading my post in the community under World Map Pin!
Darn! Now I regret even more not visiting Milano when I had a chance to check it out... On our regular road trips to Italy, we usually don't go by Milano, but one year we did pass it and Torino too! Unfortunately, there was no time to check them out...
Seeing your great photos, I do regret that decision! At least, I know what I can expect when I decide to go! And prepare physically for climbing up and down to check out those spectacular views!!!

Hehe! Yeah it was quite an exercise but definitely worth to do it once in our lifetime to experience it! Thanks for picking this post! :)
All I could think was, how did they manage to place the statues on each of those towers? It must have taken a lot of time and planning. I find the view of each structure spectacular.
I had this question too! Hehe! Thanks for dropping by!
