Old Poway Park - Poway, CA [EN/PT-BR]

Hello everyone!
This Saturday I spent the morning with my family at the Old Poway Park. This is a super fun activity to do if you are in San Diego looking for a local attraction.
The park is located at 14134 Midland Road Poway, CA 92064. I will be tagging the park on #pinmapple and you can check the location clicking on a link in the comments of this post.
Old Poway Park has some beautiful grass fields and it's a great place for a picnic, but it also has a lot of history. In 1948, John S. Porter, a retired army colonel, decided that he wanted to bring back de old west days. Over the years he bought the land where the park is now and started to build his project. One of his first purchases was a 1907 Baldwin No. 3 Steam Engine with a half-mile track.
After his death in 1979, the city of Poway bought the property and continued building his project.
Some historic buildings were moved over to the park and restored, including Nelson's House and Poway's first assembly hall. There is a train barn that houses the steam engine and also a 1938 Fairmont Speeder, and a 1906 San Francisco cable car. These machines run every weekend on the half mile track. The railroad is operated by volunteers on weekends and it's owned by the city. A single pass costs U$3.50 for adults or U$2.50 for children under 11. You can also get an annual family pass for U$50 (valid for 2 adults and up to 5 children). Each weekend there is a different machine operating, this week we saw the cable car, as you can see on my pictures.

O parque tem campos gramados lindos para fazer um picnic, mas também tem muita história. Em 1948, John S Porter, um coronel da reserva do exercito, decidiu que queria trazer de volta os dias do velho oeste. Com o passar dos anos ele foi comprando a terra onde hoje o parque se localiza e começou a construir o seu projeto. On Saturdays there is also a Farmers Market with a lot of vendors offering fresh produce brought directly from growers, flowers and also freshly prepared food. There is all kinds of food that you can possible imagine. It has something for all tastes. We snacked only some french fries and got fresh fruit smoothies.

Nos Sábados também tem uma feira livre com vários vendedores de produtos frescos trazidos diretamente por produtores locais, flores e comidas preparadas na hora. Tem todo tipo de comida para todos os gostos. Nós petiscamos uma batata frita e compramos uns sucos de frutas frescas.
