After finishing our work yesterday, we walked in the afternoon and the weather was beautiful. With the fresh air on our skin, feeling alive when walking and we saw the beautiful nature.
That day, in the morning going to work we rode a bus and instead of rushing home straight away, my husband decided that we will have an adventure by walking home. I told him that it's far from home. Then he replied, you will know if you try and much better you have an experience. And in my mind it's so far.
His like that, how will you know if you will not try. I know it's far but he insists he has a short way. For me, I don't think so and even though it's a short way still it's far from me.
It's our first time walking together after work and it was a simple choice and he was happy because we were together doing it.
The Danube River flows gracefully. We really love the river because it offers a sense of peace. Especially from our busy days and I appreciate the walking we did and the moment to slow down to appreciate the beauty of nature.
There's a ferry boat crossing the river and it carries people and cars, passing through Hungary and vice versa. The river divides the two countries and two cultures. Walking along the Slovak, I couldn't help but look across the river and we were so lucky with just a few minutes the ferry boat was on the Hungary side. Standing there, it amazes me that the Danube River doesnβt divide them insteadβit connects them together.
Every step on the path felt calm and peaceful and the river added its natural melody to our walk. From time to time, we stopped to enjoy and appreciate the stunning view around us. The river is an unending panorama that is forever flowing, steady and strong.
Even though it was low tide and it still held a special kind of charm. The water went down and we could see the soft sand, small shells and rocks. It felt more alive in different ways. The low tide revealed its simplest state but remained stunning.
As we walked home, I realized the simple walking moment was precious to us. My husband was so happy that I came with him and even though it's far I made it. It took us more than an hour of walking, just us and the river. During our peaceful walking, we find a way to reconnect with ourselves and with nature. That gives us space to breath in and the kind of calm that follows a long day of work
Thanks to my husband because of the long walk it was a perfect reset and physical effort too. My body aches while my head was calm but it was all ok and gives me peace. That night, it felt so good and I slept soundly and it made me realize that appreciating the simple act of walking can restore both body and mind.
