The Day a Dog Became My Bathroom Tour Guide and My New Best Friend 🐶

Would you trust a dog to show you where the bathroom is? Yeah, me neither… until today.🐶🚻

So, I went out for lunch today...
Nothing fancy.. Just one of those “I don’t want to cook and also I deserve this” kind of outings...

My friend and I decided to try this new spot that recently opened up. You know the kind where the chairs still squeak a bit and they play that chill indie music that makes you feel cooler than you actually are...

The place had that boho and rustic coffee shop vibe...
Wooden tables, hanging plants, warm lights...
Basically, the kind of place where you feel like you should be writing poetry, but you're really just here for the fries... 😄

We ordered some food,, nothing too heavy.. I got a rice bowl with breaded chicken and this sauce that tasted like someone’s grandma made it with love ❤️...
My friend ordered a fish fillet with extra lumpia (shanghai rolls) 😋

As I was living my best foodie life, mid-bite, I felt something brush against my leg...
Not a person...
Not a bag...
Something alive...

I froze ☹️..
Slowly peeked down...
And there it was,, a small dog...
Just chilling under the table like it owned the place...
Spoiler: it kind of did 😏

One of the staff laughed and said, “Oh, that’s the owner’s dog. He just likes to sit with customers.”

I love dogs,, but I don’t usually pet other people’s pets..
It feels like greeting someone else’s grandma with a kiss on the cheek...
Just... no.. I need to respect their space, you know..

But this dog? This little fluffy legend? It was like he sensed I needed emotional support for the large amount of carbs I was about to consume.. 😆 He plopped down beside my chair and just... stayed.. Like my unofficial lunch date..

Here’s where things got weird but cute.. 😁

I asked one of the staff where the washroom was.. She smiled and pointed outside, “Just behind the bar.”
Cool. Simple enough.

As I stood up, the dog barked.. Not an angry bark. More like a gentle “Ahem, excuse me, follow me please” kind of bark. Then it trotted outside. I was like... Okay? 😏

I hesitated, but followed...
Once I stepped out, the dog barked again and ran behind the bar area.

Then,, it stopped. Sat down right in front of a door.
ta-dah.... THE WASHROOM DOOR.
Ladies and gentlemen, the dog just guided me to the bathroom 😂

I stood there for a moment like, “Did I just get personally escorted to the restroom by a dog?” Yes. Yes, I did.

I came for grilled chicken. I stayed for the four-legged customer service.

So, moral of the story?
Always tip your server.
And maybe also the dog. 🐾
