Wednesday Walk Around My Town In Spring

👇Warning! 🔔Extremely photo heavy post 👇

At least I formatted them to display side-by-side, unless you're looking at this on mobile. In which case - sorry - not sorry!

These were all taken on my walk last Thursday. I don't think I even set a foot outside last Wednesday because the weather was pretty aweful. But Thursday? Totally different story - it was the best of a sunny spring day! Only for one day though, then we had a miserable cold and rainy weekend.

Apparently, last week was teacher appreciation week which prompted this display in front of the local school - so, I snapped a pic.

To the right of where the display stood there is a beautiful reddish maple tree. I took photos of it's leaves in different shades, from different angles many times before. The veins of a leaf seen close up never seize to amaze me. Speaking of - I'd recommend you click on the maple leaf photo to enlarge it look at that beautiful bokeh.

Next up are my most favorite spring flowers, okay, along with magnolia: Japanese cherry bloom (of the fluffy kind as also seen in the top photo) and dogwood, here in pink but I also love it in white. I probably should look up dogwood's origin because I have never seen it until I came to the US.

Back in Germany our garden had the most wonderful lilac trees in purple, in different shades, and white and I just loved walking past them and taking in their wonderful scent. I was delighted to find these two lilac trees just around the corner from our house here. A great incentive to go out during late spring and take a sniff!

I have no idea what that bloom/flower/bush/tree is in the photo above next to the white lilac but our HOA has planted it all over our condominium and I think the blooms look pretty funky, smaller petals perfectly arranged in a circle with that inner circle of small blossoms.

Below are white crab apple blooms or something like it. I don't think those trees carry any kind of fruit, hmm, or maybe they do. I'll have to check back in a few months and can let you know. For now, they just looked beautiful photographed against the sun. Oh, and again, like the maple leaf - check out the beautiful bokeh in the background.

And then the ever interesting to look at and to photograph dandelion puffs. Over the years I have taken many photos of them and love to really get close, closer than these two, because then they look quite abstract. They are such interesting looking little plants. I especially like to develop their photos in b & w, it increases that abstract feel.

And lastly, here are a couple of progress photos on the two construction sites that I introduced you to on my previous Wednesday Walk post almost exactly a month ago. Hmm, doesn't look like too much obvious progress but since people are busy on both sites I'm sure there is some.

And that's it for this week's WednesdayWalk with @tattoodjay - just some pretty spring pictures to lift my - and maybe your - mood 🙂.

Have a great rest of your Wednesday!

Cheers,

God, what a beauty! Thank you, thank you, I was so inspired! I also like to walk the streets and take pictures of flowers🌻. But now we have a war in Ukraine, so it does not have such an opportunity. But, I believe that everything will be fine and I will still walk my native streets, take pictures of flowers. But I will probably write about my old walk with flowers😀

It makes me happy that you stumbled across my photos and they inspired you. Especially in these tough times in Ukraine, it is wonderful that you are still able to see beauty amidst it all. By all means, do dive into your old photo walks, remember and share those with us.

Oh yeah, a tablet is a great tool for anything photo on the run, or in the lounge 😉, Some photos really do look better when bigger.

I am fining it very handy trying to keep up with comments and posts especially on a wednesday with the Wednesday Walk was a hassle on my phone so much easier on the tablet, I think I probably could run photo editing apps on it, but will leave that to do on my desktop computer which is all set up for that

All these photos are beautiful and are a great help to lift anyone's spirits. I particularly love the maple leaf photo. And the dandelions have always appealed to me, and you have captured them beautifully. Cheers!🌸
