I live naked and barefooted, very close to Earth and Nature, in an 18-acre, off-grid, clothing-optional, food-forest intentional community (GaiaYoga Gardens), way out in the jungles of Lower Puna, far East Big Island, Hawai'i, and I have for more than 7 years now. Although there are many challenges, I love my life, and I'm immensely grateful to live where and how I do, on my own terms! I would not want to live any other way! 😁🙏💚⚡💥🔥✴️✳️❇️👣🌱✨🤙

Warm greetings all! 😁🙏💚✨🤙

Well, after taking a few days off from researching amd testing build and run flags for the two forks of llama.cpp that I'm using, ik_llama.cpp and llama-ccp-turboquant, I finally got back to it today. Because I haven't been able to get either models, Gemma 4 26B-A3B QAT or Qwen3.6 35B-A3B APEX Quality, loading and running stably for any extended period time as of late, I'm reassessing every build and run flag that I use in these two llama.cpp forks, so that I can come to a definitively understanding of exactly what works, what doesn't work, and why.

I very much understand why many people just stay with LM Studio to run their local models, because even with the larger amount of overhead, and less granular control, it is still notably less technical than doing so with llama.cpp or any of its forks. I don't really want to go back to LM Studio, however, as since I am operating under quite resource-contrained conditions for the models that I'm trying to run, I need the extra fine-tuned control to able to do so successfully.

Since this process of researching and testing is quite technical, and it's definitely still frying my brain, I've been making use of the cloud-based model, Grok (on X), to accelerate my progress a bit. This has been very helpful for sure, but it still hasn't allowed to get to where I need to be, especially with Grok's 20-query-per-day limit for free accounts. So things are still going a bit more slowly than I'd like.

I'm absolutely determined to get everything working correctly and consistently for extended time frames, as that's what's necessary to work with Hermes in the way that I want and intend, though it may take me a little time to finally figure it all out. I've got to master the build and run flags for these llama.ccp forks, which given their complexity, is quite a large undertaking indeed.

Even with all the challenges, llama.cpp and its forks are still the best way to run locally-hosted AI models by far. It's also the backend for some other options, including LM Studio and Ollama, but with more control possible, and with less overhead. The learning curve is just a lot steeper, so I've got to do it a little at a time. There are just so many parameters and variables to take into account, and that need to work together correctly. I will succeed in this endeavor, however, bit by bit, and one step at a time.

Yesterday, Wednesday, after finishing up my Hive-Blurt-'We Are Alive Tribe' tasks by a bit after 12:30PM, I prepared for a session that was scheduled for 1:30PM. The session went well, and we wrapped it up by around 5:30PM, after which I went to Wabisabi to heat myself up some food, and to collect my leftover superfood fire coffee from the fridge, before heading back to the Flow House to begin my evening Hive tasks. I got everything done by just after 8:45PM, and after some more research and testing of llama.cpp-fork build and run flags, and scanning X for a short bit, I finally went to bed by about 11:15PM. I woke up by a bit around 7:15AM, having thankfully slept very well, going to prepare my superfood fire coffee, and some breakfast, in Wabisabi, then returning to the Flow House to do more llama.cpp-fork research and testing, and to write this post. It's now just before 12:30PM, so it's a very good time to wrap this up, so that I may attend to my few other important Hive-Blurt-'We Are Alive Tribe' tasks, before leaving the Flow House a little later in the afternoon, to focus first on some photography for my posts, and then on some jungle-community/land work and tasks. I deeply appreciate y'all so very much! Until tomorrow's edition of these posts! Always forward, onward, upward, and whaleward, ho, together we go! 😁 🙏 💚 ✨ 🤙

2026 Life Goals

1.) Do regular integral practices again, alone or with others.

2.) Prepare regular batches of my medicinal teas collected from the land again.

3.) Make my plant nursery, and the gardens, beautiful again.

4.) Begin learning relevant coding/programming languages to more fully contribute to the sovereignty-driven technologies where I am active, like Arch Linux, Hive, Qortal, DeSo, and Bastyon.

This is our collaboratively shared Witness node between the We Are Alive Tribe, and @borniet's and my MMB (Maximum Mutual Benefit) Project, here to build something good for all of us! The higher in the witness ranking we go, the more that we'll be able to grow the We Are Alive Tribe, and the more that we'll be able to share with all of you!

Vote for @bradleyarrow's Witness Node!

Bradley's tenaciously committed and all-in on Hive for the long haul (just like me!), and the higher his witness goes in the ranking, the higher the weekly BBH and BBHO dividend payouts will be!

It certainly is the way that I'm attempting to do it, that's for sure, but I'll figure it out, as I always do in the end. Thanks a lot, brother, I appreciate that. 😁🙏💚✨🤙
