I live naked and barefooted, very close to Earth and Nature, in an 18-acre, off-grid, clothing-optional, food-forest intentional community (GaiaYoga Gardens), way out in the jungles of Lower Puna, far East Big Island, Hawai'i, and I have for more than 7 years now. Although there are many challenges, I love my life, and I'm immensely grateful to live where and how I do, on my own terms! I would not want to live any other way! 😁🙏💚⚡💥🔥✴️✳️❇️👣🌱✨🤙

Warm greetings all! 😁🙏💚✨🤙

Web3 frameworks, which are defined as decentralized or distributed networks where people have 100% ownership and control of their accounts, identities, data, and assets, have been developing and spreading quite notably over the last few years, and for good reason. Most of these, however, including Hive, Blurt, Steem, and most of the major blockchains, rely on non-decentralized components for a good amount of their important functionality, and as such are really only partially decentralized, at least as of now.

Hive-Divider-Green-Rounded-2.png

This reliance on centralized components for important functionality is very problematic, as it creates very notable attack vectors, bottlenecks, and points of failure, as most of us here on Hive and Blurt have noticed, when a particular service or other goes down for a time, sometimes even permanently. From my perspective, a primary focus for any decentralized blockchain ecosystem like ours should be to endeavor to fully decentralize or distribute our infrastructure, as that makes it all the more resilient, stable, reliable, and unstoppable over time.

My timeline in the world of decenralized, blockchain-based Web3 frameworks began in early 2021 with my discover of Bastyon (formerly Pocketnet), which fascinated me, and then later in the same year, of my discovery of Hive, which utterly enthralled me. I came upon Qortal, via a comment on Hive, in late 2023, and its idea of building a completely decentralized replacement for the web2 internet definitely piqued my interest. I found DeSo at the beginning of 2024, and although there were various things about it that I appreciated, I could never really get into it, though I'll likely revisit it at some point soon. It was in early 2025 that I finally decided to create and account on Blurt, and to explore that sibling blockchain ecosystem, which was a very positive experience for me indeed. There are a handful of other blockchains and their ecosystems that I've also explored, though those mentioned above are the ones in which I've had the most experience.

Every one of these blockchain ecosystems had, and has, aspects that I very much love(d), and others that quite annoy(ed) or frustrate(d) me. As of today, the four where I've been most consistently active over time are Hive, Qortal, Blurt, and Bastyon. Of these, only one presently has fully decentralized infrastructure, Qortal. Qortal deeply intrigued me, and for many reasons, and while it did go through a bit of a rough developmental cycle for a time, it's come a long way in a very short amount of time, to the point today where I find myself really quite impressed with what's been build, and what is, and will soon be, possible via its extraordinary completely-decentralized framework.

I'm at a loss for exactly how to adequately and succinctly describe Qortal, because, well, it is very different from Hive or Blurt, and it has diverse and interoperable parts that are under active and ongoing development. Suffice it to say, Qortal has its own web3 iterations of a growing number of common web2 services and websites, all within its internal decentralized network, including data and media storage via QDN (Qortal Data Network). While Qortal used to require a bit of tech knowledge to install and set up, the onboarding process has smoothed out sufficiently that this is now quite simple and easy for most people. As such, for those of you who find yourselves interested in learning more about Qortal, I'd suggest starting your exploration with its two main web2 websites, https://qortal.org, and https://qortal.dev, both of which provide a plethora of useful information and onboarding resources. Although I haven't attempted to create a base of operation for the We Are Alive Tribe on Qortal yet, mostly because there aren't really any of our members there yet besides me (and Bjorn, but he's not presently active, though there are other Hivers there), it's been in my mind to do so for a while now. I really like Qortal, and I'm pretty sure that you will too (I'm weird, so who knows? 😜).

Hive-Divider-Green-Rounded-2.png

Yesterday, Monday, I wasn't feeling well, which is unusual for me, for most of the day, so after finishing up my Hive-Blurt-'We Are Alive Tribe' tasks, I felt the need to lay down on my bed, and to close my eyes for a while. I don't know if I actually slept, but I did feel a little better afterward, finally leaving the Flow House by a bit after 4PM. The hot shower that I took soon after coming down from the Flow House also helped quite a lot. I had a headache, and my body felt off balance and a bit weak, but thankfully I did begin to feel better, and more balanced, later in the day, and into the evening. I didn't really have the energy to get any land work done, so I focused on some self-care instead, by making myself some food (mini spiced-and-seasoned beef patties, on olive-oil-toasted sourdough, with pepperjack cheese) in the Landing. Once I had my food made, I collected my jar of leftover superfood fire coffee from the fridge, and I headed back to the Flow House, to begin my evening Hive-Blurt-'We Are Alive Tribe' tasks. I got everything done by just before 9PM, and after some asset management, and scanning Qortal, I went to bed just before 11:15PM. I woke up a bit after 7AM, having slept well, doing more asset management, going to make my superfood fire coffee in the Landing, then returning to the Flow House to watch a video about Qortal app development on QTube (an iteration of Qortal's decentralized video-sharing), and then to write this post. It's now just before 1:45PM, so it's a fantastic time to wrap this up, so that I may get to my few other important Hive-Blurt-'We Are Alive Tribe' tasks, before leaving the Flow House a little later in the afternoon, to focus first on some photography for my posts, and then on community/land work. I deeply appreciate y'all so very much! Until tomorrow's manifestation of these posts! Always forward, onward, upward, and whaleward, ho, together we go! 😁 🙏 💚 ✨ 🤙

2025 Life Goals

1.) Do regular integral practices again, alone or with others.

2.) Prepare regular batches of my medicinal teas collected from the land again.

3.) Make my plant nursery, and the gardens, beautiful again.

4.) Begin learning relevant coding/programming languages to more fully contribute to the sovereignty-driven technologies where I am active, like Arch Linux, Hive, Qortal, DeSo, and Bastyon.

tydynrain, you mined 1.0 🟧 HBIT. If you'd replied to another Hive user, the HBIT would be split: 0.9 to you and 0.1 to them as a tip. When you mine HBIT, you're also playing the Wusang: Isle of Blaq game. 🏴‍☠️

Sorry, but you didn't find a bonus treasure token today. Try again tomorrow...they're out there! Your random number was 0.6104600796530052, also viewable in the Discord server, #hbit-wusang-log channel. | tools | wallet | discord | community | daily <><

Check for bonus treasure tokens by entering your username at a block explorer A, explorer B, or take a look at your wallet.
There is a treasure chest of bitcoin sats hidden in Wusang: Isle of Blaq. Happy treasure hunting! 😃 Read about Hivebits (HBIT) or read the story of Wusang: Isle of Blaq.

You are the blockchain platform traveller and pioneer for sure, i dunno if decentralization is there yet in it's fullest form.
I think these things take time to develop not just on a practical or digital level but also in peoples psyche.
I sell firewood most of the year the reason i chose this is because for the most part i can separate this from the reality of the government it being mainly a cash response business model.
People need to understand how important taking control is and should never be handed over to anyone.
