I live naked and barefooted, very close to Earth and Nature, in an 18-acre, off-grid, clothing-optional, food-forest intentional community (GaiaYoga Gardens), way out in the jungles of Lower Puna, far East Big Island, Hawai'i, and I have for more than 6 years now. Although there are many challenges, I love my life, and I'm immensely grateful to live where and how I do, on my own terms! I would not want to live any other way! πππβ‘π₯π₯β΄οΈβ³οΈβοΈπ£π±β¨π€
Warm greetings all! πππβ¨π€
Given my asset-leveraging proclivity, I compare investments, and hash their numbers, quite a lot, and a few very interesting insights, and a good deal of clarity, have come to me from this process regarding which asset allocations are the most useful. Some allocations are good, but certain others by comparison are simply better.
A case in point is BXT, the BeeSwap token, which pays out a portion of the fees generated from swaps in daily HIVE rewards to BXT stakers. Those daily HIVE payouts are really quite excellent, which is why I've invested so heavily in BXT. For my 915+ staked BXT, I recieve around 20 HIVE each month (the daily payouts vary from day to day, and over time), which is excellent. The only problem is that with the present price of BXT, around 2 SWAP.HIVE each, it would take about 7 years for purchased and staked BXT to pay for themselves with their daily HIVE payouts. That's a bit of a bugger.
BXT is an fantastic token, but in terms of ROI, buying or swapping for it doesn't make sense in the short term. There is a more efficient and effective means of investing in BXT, however, namely the SWAP.HIVE:BXT, which aside from having great pool feels at low liquidity, it also pays out daily pool rewards in BXT, once the payout threshold for liquidity is reached (I don't know what it is yet). So buying or swapping for a BXT, then adding it to the pool, is a better choice, because the BXT in the pool will continue growing, especially if the daily earned BXT is added back into the pool, and once it gets to good range of BXT payouts, any incoming BXT could then be staked, to take advantage of the daily HIVE payouts.
Since I definitely want more BXT, but I'm not keen on the ROI based on its market or swap price, I made the decision this morning to begin buying and/or swapping for small amounts of BXT to start adding it into the pool, to jump start its self-growth. I'm sure that it will take me a fair bit of time to get my liquidity in this pool to where it's genrating both solid fees and daily BXT payouts, but in terms of investment ROI, it's a winner, so I'll just keep adding a little bit each day until I reach the self-generating level of liquidity.
Another example of one asset allocation being notably better than another is the case with BRO and LGN as well. Holding BRO gives HIVE payouts once per week, which is great, though by comparison, LGN, which is from the same people that created BRO, is a far better investment, because it's much cheaper to acquire, and it pays out more HIVE. Staked LGN pays small amounts of HIVE out daily, which when compared to those for BRO on a weekly and monthly scale, are almost double. Because of this, I've been considering selling my BRO to buy a equivalent amont of LGN. I haven't done so yet, on either my own account, or on @aliveandthriving, because BRO is an excellent project which has been around for ages (in Hive terms, at least), and I do want to keep supporting it, plus the PeakD BRO badge is cool too. So I'm in a bit of a quandary, because in purely economic terms, I know that I should sell my BRO tokens to buy more LGN. I don't think in purely economic terms, however.
Yesterday, Friday, I left the Flow House, after finishing up my Hive tasks, around 2:30PM, giving my attention, as I almost always do, to photography for my posts first. When I had a nice batch, I made sure to go get in some sunbathing on the trampoline while the sun was shining. After sunning, I went to work in my nursery for a bit, planting a few types of seeds while I was there. I've really got to expand my nursery, because it's getting very full! After finshing up there, I cleansed up, collected my jar of leftover superfood fire coffee from the Landing fridge, and then I headed back to the Flow House, to easefully dive into my evening Hive tasks, and to catch up on my notifications. Since I wasn't able to catch up from the night before, and I had lots of new ones, I wasn't able to get through them all before I had to stop around 11PM, to do some asset management, to prepare my entry for the Reflection Hunters Contest to write the next morning, and finally to go to bed around 12AM. I woke up around 6AM, having slept pretty well, doing more asset management, starting on this post, getting out of bed around 6:45AM to go make my superfood fire coffee in the Landing, returning to the Flow House to write and publish My Entry for Reflection Hunters Contest: Round 220 - Sunny Taro Reflections, and then to immediately begin writing this post. It's now just after 1PM, so a great time to end this post, so that I may get to my few other important Hive tasks, before leaving the Flow House a little later in the afternoon, to focus first on photography for my posts, straining and blending kefir (kefir-honey-cinnamon-cacao), and then community/land work. I deeply appreciate y'all so very much! Until tomorrow's edition of this post! Always forward, onward, upward, and whaleward, ho, together we go! πππβ¨π€
1.) Do regular integral practices again, alone or with others.
2.) Prepare regular batches of my medicinal teas collected from the land again.
3.) Make my plant nursery, and the gardens, beautiful again.
4.) Begin learning relevant coding/programming languages to more fully contribute to the sovereignty-driven technologies where I am active, like Arch Linux, Hive, Qortal, DeSo, and Bastyon.
