No period in history was exactly very perfect. Even our current era isn't perfect, every era has its own uniqueness. Alot of people might prefer the simplicity of the past era, but I strongly believe our ancestral era had their challenges, challenges like sickness without a cure, it had the highest rate of maternal mortality, no technology, they had to put in alot of effort to get simple things done, zero means of communication, slavery and many other hardships they faced even in their simple world.
I can't even romanticize the past era for any reason, especially as an African child who has read history, who has alot of issues with some past beliefs and traditions against the female children and even twin births. I wouldn't have survived with the strong traditions and beliefs. And lastly, no social media. That era must have been boring .

The best era to me is this era. I might not be experiencing the best of it at the moment and, like other eras, it has its own disadvantages too, but I prefer this era, regardless of the fact that it's full of its own drama, disadvantages and fear ,but I'm glad to be in an era where I can see new technology advancement, an era where orthodox medication can cure illnesses, an era that provides vaccines to save people from deadly and incurable disease, an era that I can choose to uphold unto my own beliefs and no one has to influence me forcefully to serve some deity. An era where communication has been made easy.
An era where we have the media to express our talent, speak up on the media and communicate with families in different parts of the globe. An era where education and awareness is being created. An era where there's a privilege to education for both genders.
To be honest and expressive, being able to witness the advancement in technology, education, tradition, really makes me feel happy to be in this era. Appreciating this era, because every moment I read history, I keep wondering how they survived, lived their lives by chance, feel clueless each time there's a new illness and watch their loved ones die from illnesses like malaria that could be prevented.
But regardless, I respect their unity and real love, which is an attribute that social media have taken away from us in this era.
I appreciate their connection with nature, their ability to invent some traditional cuisine from scratch, but not like the modern era.

Also, writing as a female child from African society, this is a better era, an era that has given females the opportunity to embrace education, an era that guarantees a certain level of medical care during and after childbirth and not just limit females to young and forced marriage and subjugation. An era that has given us choice and opportunity to enjoy our existence without rules and societal expectations. An era where we thrive to having the voice our mothers never had.
This era might not be 100% perfect, but it's way better than the past centuries.
This is my best era to me, because if I was born in the past centuries, I would not have enjoyed being a female child better.

Definitely, if there is an era I would prefer to be brought to this world apart from this era, it will be the future era, because the world is evolving in technology and beliefs, and it will definitely get better than our current era.
I believe there has never been a perfect era, even our current era has its own disadvantages like the past centuries.
At the end, I believe what truly matters is that every generation searches and seeks for happiness, meaningfulness, and absolute peace in its own ways.
