In the last one year, I have spent on countless things, I have spent on clothings, toiletries, data , my younger siblings and many other things. I have spent on necessary and unnecessary things, but starting a poultry business, really paused most expenses, because the expenses that came from feeding chicks daily taught me the real meaning of expenses, it taught me responsibility in a very hard way, I learnt to save every penny for bird feeds , I forcefully learnt to cut down on other expenses, valued every penny I earned and was gifted.
For the past one year, I made the most expenses on poultry feeds.

Before I started the poultry business, I thought it was easy and less difficult , when I was told how this chicks could eat a bag of feed in less than three days , I thought it was a hype or exaggeration, I still decided to go ahead with the business.
In one month, reality dawned on me, the expenses was choking, the inflation in my country made the situation worse for me financially, prices became unpredictable, the increase and changes daily really got me weak and tired of running a business.
I almost gave up , because I had terrible mortality experience among the birds too, despise my expenses on feeds and medication, I experienced loss due to illness.
I only continued the business because I had support and encouragement, I have always liked animal farming, but I really got tired, regretted and hated it at some point because of the expenses involved in feeding, it was a huge responsibility, that taught me how to plan and manage my finance.
It's also painful that this expenses is unavoidable, because without proper feeding you won't raise healthy birds .
This bird needs to be fed constantly, consistently and steadily . They even eat at night, some times I try to off the light for some minutes just for them to take their beak out of the feeders and rest for a while.
It became really exhausting and unavoidable, the more you feed them , the more profit you make from the business, because buyers will always purchase the big bird with a heavy foot and weight, and all these depends on how well you fed them in past 8weeks, personally I sell off at 8weeks.
The expenses is unavoidable, it's the major and unavoidable expenses in running a poultry business .

You just have to be very committed to feeding them often and the expenses can't be avoided, at some points I had to watch tutorials on how to make my own feeds, but I couldn't execute that task, it's another level of stress.
I just had to stay financially committed to buying feeds and feeding birds , like they were my kids .
The economy of my country wasn't helping matters, but then what kept me going was my support system, I had a solid one, people who didn't want to see my business fail and I'm forever grateful to them.
Although, it wasn't an easy one, but it was worth it, the experience was worth it , I learnt alot and the profit was worth it too.
I only had my down time during my first trial, after I sold off , seperated my expenses and realized my profit, I didn't give up, instead I tried again, learnt to mix high quality feed products and less quality products together, to reduce expenses, especially when they are passed the first four weeks, I kept learning and I'm still learning, I can boldly say it was worth it and I will happily do it over and over again and make good profits.

Successful people are those who didn't give up when they face obstacles or fail in their passion, glad you didnt give up and now you have more ideas on how to minimize the expenses of feeding them, good way to go!
Thanks for the kind words, Burl 🥰
Poultry farming is an amazing investment especially when your chicks are growing just as expected. Wishing you all the best.
Thank you 🤗
Honestly, you really tired because it's not easy at all. Chicken rearing is not easy at all, my elder brother tried it one day by rearing them, but he got tired because it's not easy and also you must have a huge amount to he able to rear them.
Poultry business has always been in my mind, I love when I see someone doing that business, but I can't do the stress ,I once helped my aunt years back and I realized how stressful it was, I can only venture into the business when I see someone very unresponsive in helping me manage it. This is a wonderful one, I wish you profit in all 🎉🎉🎉
