So i canāt really say I have met a stranger who did something good for me and then completely disappeared without a trace, at least not in the exact way this prompt describes it, but there is a particular experience I had years ago that still sits somewhere in my mind whenever I think about kindness from strangers, It wasnāt straightforward, and even till today, I honestly donāt know what to make of it, so you will just have to judge by yourself if it counts as a good deed or not.
2016 February to be precise, I travelled down to Port Harcourt to write my WAEC, i was staying at my momās relativeās place, a brother, Letās just say my brother, he was into construction work, so the environment was usually quiet, especially during the day when he was out working, while I was there going for my exams and all, there were no visitors at all, until one particular day after my last paper.

That afternoon, I was outside washing clothes when some people walked into the compound, there was no gate in front of my brotherās house, so anyone could literally walk in, That was how I met Alex, he came asking about a piece of land directly opposite my brotherās house, I knew my brother had information about it, so I called him on the phone, he told me to give Alex his number, which I did, and then I went back to washing my clothes like nothing happened.
After a few hours, Alex came back to say thank you, He seemed genuinely grateful, then he offered to take me out on a date, obviously, he must have gotten the information he needed, and I think they were planning to purchase the land for someone, I agreed to the date, and the next day, I dressed up and went to the location where he said he would pick me up.
Long story cut short,Ngl we had fun throughout that day, He offered to help me fix my faulty phone, got me some stuff because I told him I was travelling back to Lagos since I was done with my exams, he did all these things without saying any rubbish or acting weird like some guys would, and in my head all I kept thinking was, āOh wow, what an angel.ā that was literally what my mind kept saying.
Past 7 pm, it was time to go home, and I told Alex I was ready, before I left, he still gave me around 10 thousand naira to hold as transport money, back then, that money was huge, with my shopping bags and everything, I walked down to the bus stop to get a cab home.
Not too long after, barely like 10 minutes away from where I had left Alex at the ATM stand, I was attacked by two men with cutlasses, that was how everything I had, even my phone was collected from me. There was no one to help me, Thankfully, I had a small phone hidden in my pocket, that was the only thing they didnāt see.
Honestly, I was terrified. I had heard stories of how those guys cut off peopleās arms, I cried and walked back to the ATM stand hoping I would see Alex , I didnāt, eventually, I used the small phone I had left to call my brother, He was angry that I left the house, but also relieved that I was safe.
No Android phone went back to Lagos with me, Alex never called my line, and that was the end of it all.
Omo , see till today, I honestly donāt know what to think about that experience, was it kindness? Was it coincidence? Was it just one of those strange moments life throws at you? See I still donāt have answers, Maybe some good deeds donāt just come with explanations, Maybe some strangers are only meant to pass through our lives briefly, so i will leave you to decide what it really was.

That experience was one of a kind, a memory hard to forget.
It's very hard to forget o. Seriously
Yeah, some strangers/helpers are just sent to us as passersby. Thanks for sharing.
Hmmmm I don't know but thanks for dropping a comment.
This is interesting and funny š
Just joking, but what if Alex knows or sent the thieves š š
I have asked myself this thing since that time. And my mind is telling me that's what happened.
