If My Memories Live On, Am I Still Alive?

This idea really sounds good you know, being able to transfer all of my memories into a clone which will continue living life, my life after I'm gone. It does sounds good knowing fully well that wherever I stop my journey here, then another me, or something of sort will continue with all of it.

You know, I just can't help imagining what it would look like. I doubt if anyone would even be able to tell the difference since it will carry all of my physical appearance and it also has my memories, so it will even be difficult to tell us apart. But then, of what importance is it. Can we say it does not pose any risk? Should we say it can be all perfect and there won't be glitches or malfunctions. Also, can it really be me.

You know, imagine dying at around 80-90 years of age, and then my memories and all were transferred to a clone that will continue to live as me. Will it look old too, or it would look younger even while still having all my 80 years memories. Also, should we say it is like us escaping death or what, also will I be able to say I'm alive cause I don't understand yet... It sounds tricky kind of and seems to even have the ability to mess with the brain 🤣

Cause I can't help but wonder, "Am I really the one alive?"

I don't think I'm going off topic, they are just thoughts coming to mind as I write. I know it would look exactly like me, I know that now that it has my memories then it will know everyone I know, it will know my experiences, it would probably even be able to recall things that happened when I was way younger which I obviously would have forgotten at an old age, even still I don't see how I would be able to call a clone, my clone... Me. Like, how is it me, the fact that you have my memories and look exactly like me doesn't qualify you to be me or live my life.

I know some will want to definitely put it into consideration, especially if it can exist together with you when you're still alive. It may allow you focus on things, do certain things better and all of that, but when all of us have clones, how do we really know if we are actually meeting ourselves or our clones at an event, a meeting, and all of that.

There's a whole lot to life. And I personally would love to live my life, a life I know as an ending, I mean a life that will definitely end some day and not have a continuity of any kind with a clone or whatever. I can't say yet, tech is here, AI is here and a lot of things can become possible in years to come. Maybe, just maybe this too could be possible in few years time, even if it were I wouldn't consider it. I know some will definitely want to, but me, I will pass.

Like you said, it is very tricky.
For a clone that look exactly like you with your memories, won't the clone start feeling like he is the real deal? For your clone to live on, after old age, it means you will have to create a clone of yourself while you are still young. Which means both of you will be alive or you might consider putting your clone to sleep. I have seen similar stuff like this in movies, hopefully it works that way.

I still wouldn't give it a second thought though 😁

Reading through your blog made me reason the prompt in another angle like continuing life after the death of the natural body..... So thoughtful and tricky

No one can live our lives like we would as owners and it's just better not trying to play a quick one on mortality.

Nice one Millie 🄰

A clone won't feel like me though, it's just a memory and doesn't carry my personality. And perhaps leaving a clone after death is only going to hurt those that love a person, it's just going to serve as a reminder that one no longer exists. I don't think I will ever agree to that, it's pointless to me

So true
It's not something I will ever consider too
