Are you shocked?
Well, obviously, this is my first food blog on Hive, so let your shock... shock out!
I had always wanted to make a food blog or vlog on Hive, but whenever I tell myself I'd do so, I always forget and remember when the food is ready. It's been happening for a long time, and I also appreciate the lovely Miss procrastination for making sure I continue pushing it.
However, I had to set multiple reminders before I started preparing the meal for this evening. In fact, I had to bring my phone charger to the kitchen so that I won't have any reason to miss the picture feed for today's food blog.
So, let's go straight to our meal for dinner.
Yes, Sweet potatoes and Egg Sauce.
Today was a really busy day for me, as you can see from my clear tired face above. Aside my regular routine and off-hive activities, I had to reach the market to get some foodstuffs. This was necessary because the fridge was empty. The food we cooked (my elder brother and I) last two weekends was over. Hence, we'd have to manage, cooking in bits till this weekend.
I had the intention to buy yam but inflation is terrible. The purchasing power of the currency is so weak, such that food items in the market are rocketing in price whereas the minimum wage is still where it is.
My initial plan was to buy Yam and Potatoes, but since yam was really expensive, I had to buy only Potatoes. I also bought half crate of eggs (15 pieces), fresh tomatoes, fresh pepper, Shawa fish (Herring), and onion. Then I also used half of the money to buy fuel for the generator.
I had to do lots of calculations and I also bought little amount of stuffs, so that I won't trek home like Moses to the promise land (lol). I had other ingredients at home, so there was no need to buy them again.
We've gotten all we need, so let's cook!
Do you want to join me?
Peeling the jacket of the potatoes was actually stressful, too long and boring. However, the process for cooking is one of the simplest food preparation after the "invention of tea."
After Peeling the potato's jacket, I poured salt into the water which I used to clean the potatoes. I really don't know why we have to do this ritual! After this, I boiled the potatoes for some minutes, and when it was ready I removed the water with a sieve.
Tada!!!
To prepare the Egg Sauce I used the following:
Sorry, that's a mistake (lol)
Vegetable Oil | Eggs | Maggi Knor and Curry |
Fresh Tomatoes | Fresh Pepper | sliced Fresh Tomatoes + Pepper |
Shawa fish | Fish after removing bones and cleaning with warm water |
Onions | Sliced Onoins |

Viola! Food is ready!!!
Let me hear how you prepare your own egg sauce.
