ANOTHER CHANCE

So much of the debates we see today are as a result of how the media tend to project certain situations, intentionally trying to stare up the opinion of the public in a certain direction which at the end of the day raises what we know as controversies. These are usually done for the purpose of making money but then at the expense of the masses. This is the major reason I do not engage myself in social media gossip or debates because not only are they pointless, I feel no human has the right to judge how another human lives their life especially when you have no clue what they have been through to be where they are making the decision they made. At this point it’s not about who is in the right or who is in the wrong, but rather giving everyone a benefit of a doubt until the result of their actions speak for itself.

Last month a Nigerian actress and celebrity who many years ago was dragged for birthing her child through surrogacy finally decided to share the situations that led to her decision to go through surrogacy. It was funny how a lot of the people that wasted no time saying all sorts of things against her turned to sympathize with her which shows that people don't really care and are just looking for the next hot topic they can talk about. Back to her story, we got to know that she had gone through a good number of failed IVFs before finally deciding to go for surrogacy. All the woman wanted was a child she could call her own.

It is true that people do things for different reasons, and while some may go into surrogacy because they do not want to alter their already perfect body, while others who have the money have tried a lot of different approaches to have children of their own see an opportunity to make that happen. I believe for a lot of people who have the money to pay someone to birth a child for them would prefer surrogacy to adoption. With surrogacy you can confirm that the child is the same blood as you, and for those traditionalists, They won't have to worry about marrying more wives or taking in a child that isn’t blood related.

I do not see surrogacy as a crime or sin of any sort, the only problem one might have is with the surrogate mother trying to shame the blood mother after birthing the child. Some might go as far as making sure the child does not regard the blood mother as their real mother, making the blood mother look like she is a shame to motherhood for being incapable of giving birth to a child. Truth is that this is another reason a lot of people make sure the surrogate mother signs an undertaking to never come near the child after a period of time. Either way, these are general issues that can be managed and apart from these, I see no issue with surrogacy.

Yes that's another point to note, it's never easy to carry a child for 9 months and leave them after birth

Surrogacy is indeed not a sin neither a crime and as a matter of fact a lot of surrogate agencies do not provide room for the surrogate mother and client to meet not even for a sec that way there would be no room to shame them of their infertility.
