This morning, when I read today's Hive Learners topic, the first thing I said was “This is just so right.” The topic for today's Hive learners’ prompt is “No more medication.” I don’t like falling sick. Of course, I know no one likes falling sick. I don’t like falling sick because if it gets out of hand, I'll have no choice but to use drugs or take injections. It’s been more than one week since I have not been feeling well. It was worse, but now I'm better than I was a few days ago. Hopefully, I’ll fully recover before the week runs out. I remember how this sickness started. It started with a minor headache. Then from there, my body started getting hot. I thought it was the usual headache and that I would feel better once I took a bath and rested, but the opposite was the case. I felt worse.
The next day, my body got weaker and I struggled to do things. It was as if I was getting weaker each day. Everything became confusing. Wasn't I supposed to be getting stronger? Nighttime became scary and dangerous. I felt weaker and restless at night. I started murmuring and rolling from one edge of the bed to another. When I couldn't bear the pain any longer, I informed my friends who came to take care of me. The sickness had weakened my body that I couldn't even stand well. My friends had to help me to the pharmacy where they passed water into my body through drip. They also recommend some drugs. Looking back to when I started feeling sick, I am way better now and it is all thanks to God and the medications. What would I have done if there were no drugs, injections, or drips?
I wonder how our forefathers treated infections and diseases without drugs. Well, times have changed. In the world we are today, diseases and infections that claimed life in the past can be prevented or cured with the proper medication. However, medication is not always what you need. Sometimes, what you need is something different. There were times when a change in your habit or daily routine would help you get better. For today’s prompt, the Hive Learners’ community asks an interesting question: has there ever been a time when a change in habit led to a healthier lifestyle? A time when you didn't need medication to make you feel better.
It is not everything that medication solves. Sometime last semester, I started experiencing constant headaches. It was probably because I kept stressing myself by going to school under the hot sun, then going to church afterwards. At the time, I had no time for myself. Our lecturers were rushing us, so we had back to back classes, tests, and presentations. The headaches became an everyday thing. It would come and go at random times every day. I started taking paracetamol. Two in the afternoon and two in the evening. But nothing worked.
One morning when I couldn't bear it anymore, my head was hot and. It was as if a thousand fire ants were on it. My hands were on my head and before I knew it, I started loosening my hair. After I was done loosening it, I went straight to the bathroom and washed it with shampoo and conditioner (Elan shampoo and conditioner.) I felt way better when I was done washing. It was magical. Since then, whenever I have constant headaches, I don’t use medications, (they don’t work. Instead, I loosen my hair and wash it. It works every time.

The truth is our forefathers don't eat processed and unhealthy foods the way we do nowadays, staying healthy has to do with 10% exercise, 10% rest and 80% balanced diet.
Thank God you got better. I believe is not everything that needs medication because whenever I feel sick or having a headache,I drink water and take a nap. Funny enough, it's will come down and sometimes is stress and not giving your body enough rest.
