My instinct has always been right, but for a long while, I have not been paying attention to it until recently. Now, I have learned and understand how to take note of a specific feeling that arrives before my reasoning does. It is not something that distracts or with a loud warning. Just this type of feeling in me that something in me has already made the decision even before my brain catch up, but still waiting for my brain to activate it. And now, the way I trust that feeling is beyond measure.
Just two moments ago, there was something that I engaged myself in. Everything looks so fine and perfect. The person was engaging. Everything was just going as planned, like two people know what they are doing. But right before it even began, something in me felt so wrong, like I already knew where everything was heading. Though there were no specific details that I could point to.
But you know that feeling that you are doing everything right but you just know that it will not end well. Even though my instinct felt all these before I began, I just had to continue with the whole situation without telling the other person involved.
Not up to three weeks after the entire thing started, it all fell apart. Though I was not surprised because I had been mentally prepared before it..I just wanted to give it a try. Because sometimes it is needed.
Here is what the majority of people usually miss about instinct that I have gotten to understand through deep understanding and paying attention to myself and a lot of things. Instinct is not a spiritual mystery or a form of magic. Though what I believe is that God usually has a hand in it majority of the time. But for me, it is just a pattern recognition that is running faster than my conscious thoughts. All the discussion and interactions that I have had, all those people who have disappointed me. Every space that felt weird when I entered, that feeling that looks like I have done this particular thing before even before doing it. When something new has a familiar signal, something fires before I can articulate what I am seeing.

And I will also add that the majority of people always have their instincts distrusted due to the environment they grew up in. Like in an environment where they have always been told that this is how we do things here, you are too sensitive, do it like this, therefore their internal signal has been overridden multiple times. After some might have passed through an environment that never saw them, they start to doubt and second guess themselves in anywhere they are.
I have been wrong before. I have been in different situations where my instinct told me, Don't do this, and I did it, but it ended badly. Those experiences have taught me that my instinct isn't infallible; it is just faster than logic and usually tells me the right thing to do before logic has finished determining what to do.
Now, when my instinct directs me, I don't usually negotiate with it except of I just want to see the true outcome which is always right. Well, following my instinct has saved me from a lot of unfortunate situations.

I've had times when I tested my instincts too just to be sure it is what I could fully rely on and trust so I understand every part of this that you have said.
