If I am opportune and given just a month to learn a skill with all the needed resources put at my disposal, I would never go for the already saturated usually suspects. Nothing like photography, tailoring, graphics designs, digital marketing, I already have a little knowledge in these things. I would go for Technical writing straight away.
Yes. This skill may sound so bored mere looking at it, but the power it wields in the tech companies, software firms, powerful companies, government agencies and other organisations around the world carries much weight. It in a popular high demand, very lucrative, and has a lot of incredible value that just a small percentage of people can do it properly.
Alright! Let me break it down to the best of my understanding...
When I say technical writing, it goes far beyond the writing of manuals, because to me it the act of making and breaking down things that are complicated to become simple and easy to understand. It is an easy access between the Inventor of a thing and those who will be making use of it everyday. Imagine coming across a medical instruction or technical terms that you get familiar with easily without you needing a PhD to decode. Yes! That is what technical writing does.
So why now? Why choosing this particular skill?
People attach more importance to those who communicate clearly just like saying that clarity is currency. The more powerful and valuable you are when what you pass across is clearer.
In our world that is suffocating in information, it has become very clear that the people who can make those information very simple, restructure it, and communicate it with accuracy are always the ones who eventually find it to the apex. And let's be truthful to ourselves this time around, a lot of people usually run away from this with the mindset of saying that "it is too technical" or "too boring." That reluctant act and anxiety, that is where the opportunity lies. Because when everyone is headed to just a particular direction that is already saturated like I said earlier, there is more power when you are able to face the other direction.
With the aid of proper mentorship, relevant projects that I can participate in, templates and platforms like Google Doc, Notion, Confluence and others, within a month I could know all the basic and build on that. And just from there, it will not be so hard to start remote jobs, take some couple of freelance gigs, SaaS firms and even all these fast rising tech companies will be looking for someone who can write a simple and clear documentation.
Not about the money alone, for me, there is always this joy when I am able to solve someone else's problems, removing the fog in front of them and making them to understand. It's just a natural empathy skills that I have developed which has made me to be more patience, logical and creative. In this digital age, not everyone has that.
Learning this skill is going to add to my personal growth and it will not just be about acquiring the skill alone. So, if it comes to learning something not common, useful, fast and it will give me profits, I am definitely doing this because a lot of people overlook it.
I am sure that just within a month and with all the needed things I mentioned in paragraphs 6, I will be able to ride this dark horse well.
Thank for reading.

Choosing technical writing shows not just foresight, but also a deep understanding of where real value lies—especially in making complex things accessible. It's true: clarity is currency, and not everyone is equipped with the patience and empathy needed for that.
Yeeeeh
It’s a skill and a service many underestimate.
