The advancement in technology, in the medical for instance has made life a lot more easier and flexible, providing diverse ways to proffer solutions to several situations that might have seemed impossible in the past, one of which was childbearing. In the past couples that found it difficult to conceive or carry a pregnancy to term were just left to the fate of never having to carry their biological child, leaving them with the option of adoption or staying childless, but today improved options like IVF and surrogacy has been made available as long as you can afford it, giving hope to couples to have their biological child.
Surrogacy is the method whereby two healthy couples could use a third party as their surrogate or carrier of their child, the sperm and egg of the couple are fertilized outside before being implanted into the surrogate uterus, and such surrogate must undergo several tests to affirm her fitness and capability to carry a child to term, and all of these actions are taken and bonded by a legal agreement between the surrogate, medical personnel involved and the couple or man that wishes to have this baby.
Yea, as there are also cases where a man needs a child and the surrogate provides her eggs to be fertilized, but the child is given sole guardianship to the couple or man that initiates the need for a child, usually in this agreement, the parent of the child is to provide ultimate care and provision to the surrogate during the pregnancy or time covered in the contract, while in return, the surrogate must not develop any special emotion that may push her into wanting the child for herself or running away with the child.
it is complicated no doubt, as pregnant moms often naturally form a bond with their unborn child, whether surrogate or not, so this law binding ensures the baby to its rightful parents at delivery. So far this practice has been successful for many, even in my country, Nigeria as I recently watched a veteran actress come out to speak about how she went the surrogate route when carrying pregnancy to term became an issue for her after several trials, so I believe giving people this choice is a good improvement in technology advancement.
The question of whether surrogacy is ethical or not is not one for someone to condemn or criticize as everyone has the freedom to do what they desire, so it is not wise to judge people who opt for this method of childbearing because we are not in their shoes and don't know the sort of courage and strength they had to gather before arriving at this conclusion.
Will I consider Surrogacy?
Well, having experienced pregnancy and childbearing twice, I guess I am not qualified or even need a surrogate, but if I wasn't blessed already with children, I don't think I would opt for surrogacy not because I'm judgy, but because it's not just me, adoption would ba better option for me.

Adoption is a good alternative too. I agree that people should be allowed to choose the method they seem fit as long as they go through the right channels.
That's right, also don't judge others who choose other legitimate options.
It actually takes a lot of courage for couples to opt for surrogacy and in most cases it is due to health conditions ( infertility) else I do not see a reason why two healthy couples would agree for surrogacy.
Yea, I think so too
Adoption is one of the best alternative for those who are not having child, in this way they can support an abandoned child and also they can complete their urge for having children.
That's right, thanks for reading
Through technology, surrogacy has been a game changer, offering a viable option for those who cannot conceive or carry pregnancy.
I appreciate your honesty though....considering adoption over surrogacy..huhm
Thanks for sharing.
