Money is something that people often do not like to talk about but Let us be honest here, money is very important. Anybody who says that money is not important probably has not been in a situation where they did not have money and it was causing them a lot of stress. When you do not have money, everything becomes harder than it should be. Basic things become problems. You cannot even think clearly. Happiness starts to seem like a luxury that you cannot afford.

At the same time ,if you do focus too much on making money it can also cause you problems, This is what people mean by the "rat race". You keep working trying to make more money and comparing yourself to other people. After a while you become tired, but You cannot stop, It is like you are working hard but you are not really living.
For me the first step to staying grounded is to understand what money is for. Money is a tool, not the important thing in life, It is meant to make your life easier to give you comfort and to help you take care of yourself and the people around you, When money starts to control your happiness or define your worth that is when it becomes a problem.
Another thing is to know when you have money, If you do not define what it means to you, other people will help you define it ,And trust me it will never be enough, There will always be someone who is making money , buying more things and living in a bigger house, If you keep comparing yourself to these people you will always feel like you are not doing well even if you are doing fine, i have also learned that comparing yourself to people is one of the fastest ways to lose your peace of mind,Social media can make it seem like everyone is doing better than you, Someone just bought a car, someone else is traveling and someone else is making a lot of money online, You start to feel like you are not doing enough, You do not see the whole story. ... Everyone is on a path and they are facing different challenges.
Staying grounded also means remembering the things that make life worth living, These things include your relationships, your peace of mind your health and your time. What is the point of making money if you are always stressed, tired and you do not have time to enjoy anything?. What if you have lost touch with the people who matter to you? At the time we cannot pretend like money is not important especially when you have responsibilities. You have to pay your bills take care of your family and live comfortably. So yes working hard and trying to make money is a good thing.
The problem is when making money becomes the thing that matters to you, I think finding a balance is the key. Work hard , yes ,chase opportunities, yes but give yourself time to relax, Celebrate your little wins, rest when you need to and do not tie your happiness to your bank account, At the end of the day money can make life easier, It cannot replace peace, happiness or meaningful relationships, so while we are all trying to make a living and improve our lives we have to be careful not to lose ourselves in the process, If you gain all the money in the world but you lose yourself then what is the point of money?
