Growing influence of social media
A lot are trending in different countries so far, but I want to focus on what I see happening in my special country Nigeria.
Owing to the fact that most Nigerians graduate from high institution of learning and come back home to start searching for job for years. Some of them end up riding what we call okada ( bike) just to make ends meet. It has not been easy in this side of the world at all. Most parents now see education as a scam because most of their children end up unemployed for years and the parents still catter for their needs which is not suppose.
Having said that I will appreciate the fact that the social media has somehow provided jobs for so many Nigerians. The other day I decided to walk in the street of TikTok and I noticed that so many Nigerians are working day and night online to make a living.
THE TREND OF SOCIAL MEDIA IN NIGERIA
This is the era of social media and people are making money out of it. Our people say that an idle mind if the devils workshop which is very true. By the time our young ones don't have any work doing and they all have needs that need to be met, something else will come to mind so that money will come. I believe that some of our young men and women who go around engaging in stealing and breaking into people's houses will not do so if they have something doing that gives them enough money. I know that no matter what we do some people will still prefer to go and steal even when they see a thief been killed before their own eyes. That is a different case because some people are into shady things today because they have nothing doing but when they get something doing that pays well they won't even have the time to go out in the night to steal when they return from work around 7 pm and will return to work the following morning, the next thing is to rest so that tomorrow will be good for them.
I AM ALWAYS ONLINE
Social media space did not just create jobs for the young ones, it created for the elderly too. I am already 50 and still I make money every week online. It has really helped me very well. I can't even deny it because I am both in the #hive Blockchain and other social media platform making money.
Secondly it keeps me busy. Before now when I get tired of sitting at home all by myself with no one to talk to I will look for a friend and visit so that we can talk. But today things are different. I hardly ho out anymore. I just stay at home, do my house chores, make my post in this platform and use other social media space to chart with People, watch movies and do a lot there. For me I enjoy the social media space a lot because aside the money that I make I also talk to friends and learn from others.
I am seriously interested in this topic because is what affect everyone today.
