Social media is just a pseudo life

He who trusts social media trusted vanity!

Most times, I just see the media itself as something so fake. They get to hide the truth and then showcase whatever they want the world to see. Only those behind the scenes would know what’s really going on. That's just how it is in the news media and all other media, too. So far, the media gives an avenue to stage something different from the real world, and then it's all the same.

Come to talk about cinematographers. You see them live a kind of life in movies, their characters, their actions, and almost everything about them. At some point you will actually think that's their true nature, meanwhile, it is not, it's just a way they were staged to act. Sometimes their real behavior is most of the time way different from the role they play in those movie sets.

Watching behind the scenes is when you realize the truth about what's going on. They might have made several mistakes before they could get the actual act right.

This is the same with social media too. I can only tell you what I want you to know about me. You can't get to know who I really am. Because all that happens in the media is for you to believe who I said I am.

To know the true individual, you have to make physical relationships with them. That way, you can actually know who is who.

I remembered a short animated skit I watched of two people who met in the media. They really liked each other's profile pictures, they got connected and had so many chats and interactive sessions with each other. That went on for some time, not until one of them asked for a meeting.

This is where the real deal came to pass. They agreed on a place for the meet-up. When the guy called to confirm who he wanted to meet, I guess that's where the call actually stopped. He was shocked to have met a different person entirely from the one he had imagined himself to be with.

He didn’t even bother getting closer but took to his feet and ran as fast as he could. That's the power of social media. It's an avenue for reality and also an avenue for deceit. I can be so poor and decide to live like I am extremely rich. All is just about trying to fake it and package it. People will only believe what they see. And what they see is what you put out there for them to see.

Social media and workplace.

Everything surely comes with its advantages and disadvantages. I strongly agree with companies and employers having a social handle on their employees. But that shouldn’t be what they hold as collateral or as a source of identification for them.

Social media could be faked and it's just like a life out of their real life. There are many other ways by which an employer can get in touch with their employees apart from social media. They can have their next of kin, they can have their referee, and many more.

In the end, I see no big deal in handing over my social media handle to the company I work with. So far I still work with them, and the handle is all about them.

I agree with you that today people use social networks to pretend to be something that is not, to show a life of luxury and success to show a reality that they have not managed to achieve. This is very common in teenagers and people in general.

On social media I talk about my life, my obstacles, what happens to me, I use it to leave testimony of the struggles I fight day by day.

Regarding allowing the company to have my social networks, I do not agree, it seems like an invasion of my privacy because that immediately means that if I want to say something against the company I will not be able to do so because obviously I will suffer retaliation or reprimands. against me. So it doesn't seem like a good idea to me.

Also, I generally try to keep people from my work separate from my social media.

I agree with you that a lot of people lead fake lives on social media. Maybe that’s one thing we should look at too because someone might be really aggressive on social media but not like that at all in real life. But I also think companies should have the social media accounts of their employees

In social media, people show you what they want you to see. That's majority of the things online are fake, people's personalities and everything.

And that's why people will say believe everything you see on the internet at your own risk. I also do not see it as a big deal to allow my employers know my social handles and if hiding it definitely give a course for alarm as no one want to trust their organization in the hands of tout.
