Are they really celebrating a fifteenth birthday? | PhotoFeed Contest Portrait Photography Round 174 [EN-ES]

Hello portrait lovers!

Due to circumstances beyond my control, it's been a while since I've graced these magical corners where @photofeed offers such interesting initiatives.

Today, I'm back with great pleasure, and I hope you enjoy these unique portraits I have to offer.

Why do I consider these photographs unique? Well, on the one hand, you're probably already noticing why it's not common to photograph the faces of military personnel, and I didn't want to miss the opportunity I had to do so, and even more so to share them with you.

On the other hand, I'm not a fan of war, violence, and everything they entail. If it were up to me, I'd wish there were no armies anywhere.

However, I confess that there's something captivating about military ceremonies. They possess a refinement that leaves me spellbound, beyond the uniformity that unites them as a common thread amidst their variety.

In this case, the portraits you see here were taken during a quinceañera celebration for the girls at the military academy in my city.

Since it's not something that happens often, much less in public, everything aligned perfectly for me to abandon my previous plans and calmly enjoy capturing these contrasting expressions that offer such diverse interpretations.

¡Hola amantes de los retratos!

Por situaciones ajenas a mi voluntad, llevaba tiempo sin arribar a estos lares mágicos donde @photofeed nos regala iniciativas bien interesantes.

Hoy, regreso con todo placer y espero disfruten lo que les ofrezco con estos retratos tan singulares.

¿Por qué califico como singulares a estas fotografías? Bueno, por un lado, ya deben irse dando cuenta porque no es común fotografiar rostros de militares y no quise perder la oportunidad que tuve de hacerlo y más compartirlos con ustedes.

Por otro lado, es que no soy amante de la guerra, la violencia y todo lo que ello implica. Si por mí fuera, desearía no existiesen los ejércitos en ningún sitio.

Sin embargo, confieso que hay algo que me atrapa cuando me encuentro frente a actividades ceremoniales militares. Tienen un refinamiento que me deja absorto más allá de la uniformidad que les conduce como punto común en su variedad.

En este caso, los retratos que están viendo acá, los pude hacer durante una celebración de los quince años de vida que cumplirían las chicas estudiantes de la academia militar de mi ciudad.

Al ser algo que no sucede comúnmente, mucho menos a la vista pública, pues todo coincidió para que dejase de hacer lo que había planificado previamente, y me dispuse a disfrutar con calma para capturar estas expresiones contrastantes que ofrecen lecturas tan diversas.
